Nice build. Looking good.
Keep an eye on those forks. Most 1" forks are bad but early S&M forks weren't great at all.

Very nice :daumenhoch: All of em with the correct undrilled challengers forks n'all by the looks (although I'm on me phone so it's hard to see) :)
All thick dropouts too, they did a thinner lightweight one too apparrently, "skin" up in Scotchester showed me a set on his retired Challenger but they were not very strong according to Scott.

Didn't know there was a thinner version :daumenhoch: - got a pair of the 'double plate drops' one's, got a little bit of a tendancy to flex tho.
-
Mine are double dropouts

looking at that lovely holmes again, smashing bike. Enjoyed the challenger parade too. I've never ridden one. What are they like compared to a holmes?
-
That orange looks killer on there.
Well done sir.
-
Great clean build mate :4_17_5:

the challenger is an awesome bike to ride but i couldnt really compare the both as i have only been on holmes for 20 mins yestereday as it was too fookin windy :-\ but certainly gonna spank its arse today up the track :D

Lighter :LolLolLolLol:
the holmes is heavier than the challenger but both are identical to ride. ;)
wonder how a dirtbike rides ??? that could be the next assignment ::)
oh i love s&m's me :smitten: :smitten:
-
on the little goes i've had on each i think the holmes is a tad twitchier, seems to want to be thrown about a little more where the challenger forces a straight line, the weight is irrelevent once it movin, feels light as fook once airborne, another lovely bike :daumenhoch: shame the fookin brake scared the fook outa me in the last berm again :LolLolLolLol:
-

Lighter :LolLolLolLol:
Diggler's spot on, the Challenger is a lighter version of the Dirtbike or Holmes
They're the same geometry, probably made on the same jigs
Standard Challenger 20.25"tt
Challenger XL 20.75"tt
-
so does anyone know what a challenger, holmes & dirtbike frames weigh ???
-
so does anyone know what a challenger, holmes & dirtbike frames weigh ???
Mine are all built up, think the Holmes/Dirtbikes are around 6lbs and Challengers a touch over 5lbs
Forks make the biggest difference, Challenger forks are way lighter than pitchforks
Agree with Daz about the weight, it becomes irrelevent once it's moving
I'd stick a pair of 36's on my Dirtbike if i was gonna race it, i still haven't rode it... :-[

Thanks for the info, Anyone have a challenger XL they want to swap for a dirtbike...???
