Title: Challenger cruiser?
Post by: Betty on February 26, 2012, 06:15 PM
Whilst having a look at Ryan's blog i spotted this from the 94 catalogue, did it ever make it into production?

How rare would one of these be?

Cheers Kev...  :daumenhoch:

So it never went beyond a prototype?

This quote off your link made me laugh...

If someone put a S&M seat on it I'd track you down, punch your face and steal your bike.

Black?

Saw it at MK... totally forgot...  :crazy2:

So a challenger cruiser was only available in 1 1/8"?

Was it the replacement for the widowmaker?

Yep, thats the one. Its my "cycle into town" bike. I got it from S&M in 1997. They only had chrome so I sent it to the paint shop (along with forks and gay bars) and got them done black.

I guess when those early 1" challenger cruisers were being looked at, it wasnt long before A-head took over the whole range anyway

While were on the subject of Later S&M cruisers, here is my wifes bike. A 24" RV

I've been on the hunt for that 1" Challenger cruiser for a while. Moeller told me he had Johnny "True Torch" Severin weld em up for him but doesn't remember how many. The one in the 1994 catalog was given to Moeller's room mate John Demonico.

In the catalog there is also mention of a "Challenger Expert frame" but that frame was never made.

For reference sake, here's the 2 previous post I made about the 1" Challenger.
