I know there is a thread at the moment regarding a little shady dealing by someone and a lot of people have said how Rad members try to look out for each other and do each other favours etc. Well I got a PM last week from Ben (Kaner) saying he knew I was building this bike and had a 1984 magazine with a 4 page feature on it and would I like it, no money involved, not even postage he just sent it to me FOC as he knew I would appreciate it. Another one was Gaz (Poolysheriff) who came to my rescue with the seat for this build, I offered him a certain amount and he simply said 'I'm not in this to make money, half of that will do' and then even said pay me at MK
Scorcher Mick let me bully him into letting me have his Mini Tuff Neck too and said 'just replace it whenever' Legend :daumenhoch:
Steve69 has done yet another awesome job on building this for me, he had to cut, file, sand, shape and polish just about every part on this bike to get it right and it shows, you guys along with everyone else who helped with parts are awesome. :daumenhoch: Thankyou, my youngest Son loves it.
Enough of the Gay speech, time for parts list and pics:

Very nice Adam.. Mini's not thang but great build :daumenhoch:
-
why cant you build your own bikes? its not hard, and why is every part NOS but had to be filed, sanded and polished to fit..even the tyres and grips ???
it is a nice bike but whats the point..its soul-less..sorry but I just dont get it

think youll find this was a beast to be built ,was talking to Steve and parts had to be cut down and filed to fit !
theyres nothing wrong with buying nos parts,if thats what you want to do fine ,if you want to do resto then thats fine too,its all down to the individual :daumenhoch:
have to say this is an incredibly rare CW and Adams done it justice(for once)

-
Nice :smitten:
And your welcome Adam :daumenhoch:
Gaz..
-
most mini race frames were a right old chew to build bitd ,most had to have the forks filed to fit tyres unless you were using sew-ups(get some adam )
-
Cheeky wee thing int it, another belting CW :daumenhoch:

Fook off then..he don't want to build his bikes.. Keeps his hands nice and soft and clean and strong and censuous.
I like the fact that you don't build em.. If you did................... They'd be crap.. Keep up your up your good work and thanks for letting us see some great bikes come to life at your expense.. :4_17_5:
Fancy a bum!!!

seems that you like people blowing smoke up your ass, how dare I say something bad, at least I have bothered to reply, looking through Rad at all the builds that have been done you dont seem to comment on anybody elses builds, just your own, like I said it is a nice bike..just soul-less ;D

I'm done.

You are very welcome Mate, info like that is real special and hard to come by with such a rare bike like that, it would have been nuts not to send it to you!
Anyway the mini looks very very cool, I absolutely love it! and to have all 3 sizes is amazing!
Ignor that lee dee cee idiot, what a fooking-5-post-banned-member-fooking-knob-jockey! Lol.

For all the people that keep bitching about Adam not building his own bikes, this is a little insight into how much work has gone into this build.
head tube was reamed and modified due to weld ingress into the cup area
head set cups turned down to enable fitment
bottom of the steer tube was modified and reshaped to enable fitment of 20 x 1-3/8" tyres.
spokes were individually shortened by 3mm
rear hub spindle was narrowed along with the bearing collars/spacers
rear brake spindle was shortened and rethreaded
and the cranks had a light machine polish.
This was far beyond the likes of most peoples builds where you open your shitty little plastic box of Halfords spanners and put it together in half an hour ::)
I'm lucky enough to have amassed a wide array of tools over the years from building show-winning custom cars and ground up restorations.
Adam's only crime here is the poor quality photos (born from excitement), he's done another great job of bringing something a little different into our world of Rad BMX and for that reason alone this little mini has soul.
Top job Adam it's lovely :daumenhoch:
So for the people still playing that broken record... Throw it away, it's not worth listening to.
-
top drawer adam, get a set of chrome cw pads for it :daumenhoch:
-
Well said Stevie, we all know your handy with the spanners. :-*
-
top drawer adam, get a set of chrome cw pads for it :daumenhoch:
Thanks Mark but I'm not a great lover of pads to be honest, I know they should be on there but I just can't bring myself to cover beautiful Stems and sleek frames with big bulky foam pads, I know I'm wrong but that's just how I like it. I think my only bike that has a pad on it is my Loopy Quad which had it on there when I bought it complete and have never got round to taking it off.
-
What you really need to go with these 3 is a very nice CW Jersey, perhaps one that was owned by Mike Miranda perhaps :-X ;)

Thanks Brummie. :daumenhoch:
-
You're criticizing him for having NOS parts, when it's a NOS frame and forks? What's wrong with that anyway?! :idiot2:
-
I love it when someone gets a real buzz for particular brands and does real justice to them.
I liked CW but you have raised the bar/profile a lately Adam. This is amazing mate. :smitten:
Get a bit of Phil woods grease (its black & smells ace) on a q tip and give those stem bolts a bit of a wipe over they're breaking my heart . :)
I don't get the point of the no soul comment tbh either.
For me building an f/f like this, the sole is in the history of the companies succes.
The desirability is owning a mint piece of that history. :coolsmiley:
Looking forward to seeing your ceedubs at mk Adam :daumenhoch:
-
Likin' it Adam ;) , those lil' ceedub bars look wicked :D
-
I,m likin this build dude, tis a little corker :smitten:
All the right bits, cw bars,,ta cranks etc :daumenhoch:
My gaze keeps getting drawn to that seat clamp though, looks a trifle bulky on that slim frame ???
Rooski :)
-
Really nice job of that mate and i just cant get enough of blue and chrome :4_17_5:
Like glynny said history gives it soul and even more its going to get used which adds more soul imo. Great little treasure for another little treasure to enjoy :daumenhoch:
