Best way to remove the gold print off a seat without scratching the plastic? Cheers guys Im guessing some sort of paint/varnish remover?? :daumenhoch:
-
Try a good, strong adhesive tape, stick it on, give it a good rub/burnish, peel away and it may come off, it did when I removed some patchy printed lightning bolts anyway, don't leave it too long, otherwise you'll end up using spirit of some kind to remove the sticky stuff, which is what you want to avoid.

Markys method is best but Cellulose thinners will do it ... BUT try it under the seat first to see what it does :daumenhoch:
i.e. it might melt the plastic or take the finish off with the lettering :buck2:

Ok thanks for the replys :daumenhoch:
-
also zippo ligther fluid dissolved adhesive so soak the lettering in theis leave for few mins do couple times till you can get finger nail on edge and lift it tad pour bit more lighter fluid into it and leave for 30 seconds or so and pull hey presto they eppl off nicely.
ps :del showed me this so it aint my idea but it works a treat on any sticker ive removed so far

bleach works very well ;)

Nail Varnish Remover :daumenhoch:

but don't do it while your nail are wet, or you will smudge them ::)

Just out of interest.....why would you want to remove the gold lettering?

I used strong window cleaner to good effect :daumenhoch:

It could be a used seat with the remnants of the original gold lettering, rubbing that off so that the new re-pop decals look better. The re-pop decals aren't the same exact size, and the original gold lettering makes the seat look messy - that was my reason anyway :daumenhoch:

Petrol and matches always work for me, douse the seat in the petrol and set light to it. No more letters and I can guarantee it will not scratch the plastic either.... Ok there won't be much left but it will not be scratched :LolLolLolLol:
