Ive been offered a second hand felt XL Pro, its had a hard life so is a bit tatty!!
Are they any good or would I be better saving for a new Haro XL Pro or Team Issue??
I know nothing about racebikes, Im only starting so what do you recommend on a budget,
Thanks!

they are much better frames than most people realise. the components are not brilliant but the hubs are good, if a bit heavy. the rear end is long so they are not as easy to manual as other bikes
for serious racing you might want to get a better set of forks and some bigger bars, oh and the cranks are 180mm rather than 175mm so you might need to change them too!
if it's under £150 then go for it otherwise a haro is the better option

:) My kids have had a few Felts between them,no problems with any.Race frames have longer backends,14.84 on the current Sector is fine.

The bike is only a few months old, just had alot of use! He's asking £250 for it.
Why would I need to change the 180mm cranks?
Thanks!

:) £250 seems excessive.I picked one up a few months back for £199 brand new.

Frames are pretty good - just not trendy.
Some parts are average.
Price is too much, I paid about £100 for my cruiser complete 2nd hand [although I've now replaced almost every part]

The forks are very good quality......
250 is way too much, there was one on talk other week for a lot less.
and 180 cranks for racing is perfect,
If its a cheap starter race bike your after, wazzer on talk is selling a schwinn pro xl cheap. They ride well.
