Some of you who raced NBMXA in the mid eighties may remember a guy called Eddy Simm who commentated at the races and at Three Sisters and Coppull/Chorley club in particular. His lad was called Dave and he'd be in his mid 40's now. Eddy was a no nonsense prison officer in his day job and a great commentator at the races. I'm guessing I learned what I know from the best...
Unfortunately, Eddy passed away this last week after a long illness. I have much to be grateful to Eddy for, he took me to Coppull and got me racing which lead to all the good experiences and friends I have had the pleasure of knowing over the last 20 plus years.
The funeral is on Thursday, if anyone remembers Eddy and wishes to post I will pass on the condolences of the OS community.

Oh bummer. Yes I knew Steady Eddy from BitD, top commentator - I think he even did the voiceover for a BMX remake of 'Can't Touch This'.
I'll have a look and see if I can find any articles of photos of him.
Condolences from me and my dad as well who remembers him well.
