i did a little bit of experimenting today with the old front forks off my meteor-lite .the steering tube was bent on them .
i remember seeing some where on here that the steering tube can be removed by removeing the weld on the bottom of the tube .
i stuck the forks in a vice and got a taperd drill bit and drilled the bottom of the steering tube then got me big hammer and a punch and knocked it out

just have to find some old forks now to get a straight steering tube from and weld them back together :)
