i bought one of those epoch headset from spartacus just for a change but am having trouble fitting it now.its all together except the lock nut wont go on as ive got no room for it,the rest of it sits flush with the top of the steerer.ive got about 1mm slack on both cups so can bang them home but that will at most give me 2mm to thread on the lock nut, any help appreciated before i chuck this fookin patty out of the loft room window :LolLolLolLol:

just found an old museum thread about these headsets, turns out that the bearings are made specifically for either the top or bottom cups so may take the thing apart at the weekend and swap the bearings about, hope this works :-\

:) Maybe someone can measure the stack height of these & other OS headsets? Make it a sticky & then it can be used as a reference so peeps know what headset will/won`t work with their F/F. :daumenhoch:

I know what forks are compatible............GHP!!!

right, ive just fannied about with it,changed the bearings around and its given me a 1mm extra, just about enough without the lock washer.with the cups smashed home i will just about have enough i think, wouldnt want to ride it tho like that, one jump and the lock nut would be snapped off :-\

I've got one on my mongoose californian and it fitted perfectly. I knoe it's a silly question, but have you put the bearing in the right way around so they sit flush in the cups?
