really hope they don't do any more anniversary models :-X

Doubtful they will ever make anything of decent quality, the only thing they ever produced were British icons of cycling. Thats fukked now though. :10_2_12:

Yeah I guess the ship has long since sailed anyway manufacturing wise.
It's still a great brand name :Great_Britain: but more cheaply produced bikes aren't going to do its legacy much good.

Out with the old.... In with the new
We need to looking (and buying) from the decent UK bike designers / builders like:
Dialled
Curtis
Dmr
etc.... that's where its at :daumenhoch:

That'll push the price of reflectors up!

It's good to see the BBC using the "VEKTAR" as the well know model that Raleigh sold back in the 80's ::)
yer i remember every kid on the block have one, some even two or three of those well selling Vektars :crazy2:
-
oh well, I guess it had to happen after all nothing is British owned anymore :-X
Love this quote though and I'm sure the Burner boys appreciated it too
"Raleigh is famous for bikes such as the Chopper in the 1970s and the Vektar in the 1980s."
:LolLolLolLol:

Just shows how thick and out of touch the BBC are.... :LolLolLolLol:

Glad they are still going :daumenhoch:
They made some iconic bikes in the past,a dare say we have had at least one of their bikes :)

I wouldn't be surprised if that quote came from someone at Raleigh having spoken to a couple of people there. :crazy2:
They sounded so out of touch it was like they were stuck somewhere everyone else wasn't. :idiot2:
