Doubtful they will ever make anything of decent quality, the only thing they ever produced were British icons of cycling. Thats fukked now though.  :10_2_12:

Yeah I guess the ship has long since sailed anyway manufacturing wise.

It's still a great brand name  :Great_Britain: but more cheaply produced bikes aren't going to do its legacy much good.

We need to looking (and buying) from the decent UK bike designers / builders like:

Dialled

Curtis

Dmr

It's good to see the BBC using the "VEKTAR" as the well know model that Raleigh sold back in the 80's  ::)

yer i remember every kid on the block have one, some even two or three of those well selling Vektars  :crazy2:

Love this quote though and I'm sure the Burner boys appreciated it too

They made some iconic bikes in the past,a dare say we have had at least one of their bikes :)

Dont forget some of the high end road bikes and special models,some were superb,DHO downhill bike from the 90,s for example :smitten:

I wouldn't be surprised if that quote came from someone at Raleigh having spoken to a couple of people there.  :crazy2:

They sounded so out of touch it was like they were stuck somewhere everyone else wasn't. :idiot2:
