Title: My DMC Mongoose is complete-I got the forks but hit a snag ?
Post by: monkeybat on May 03, 2012, 01:24 PM
Never thought I would get the real forks but Ha some good natured RAD member helped me and three days later they are mine.
Only thing is they take the 10m axle but then wear the axle rests it becomes a larger hole. Does anyone have the axle shims for this so my axle does not go all over the place ? please help.

That's a pain in the rear - what size does the hole go to?

Quite a few forks came with a larger hole in the fork drop out, Haro Forks & LGs, you can get the shims, I might even have some spare, I can have a look later or I know Vert-ego used to do them.

If you look under wheel accessories  :daumenhoch:

Please have a look or its off to Vert ego, cheers guys. It looks like a 10-14m booster washer would do the trick but I have run out of those things.

Your on the right line but its only the washer booster that might work. Thank you all the same.

:) Is it a 10-12 centreing washer that LGs and others take or 10-14mm? I think JT needs some too so I`ll have a look soon. :daumenhoch:

Ordered throught pay pal on the Thursday evening a week ago. Figured he would post Friday and I should receive by Saturday-didnt show so I phoned. He hadnt even posted the item and didnt seem like my order was that important.
Phoned him again today after he said he would post tuesday and his answer was there still here been really busy but you can have your money back no problem. I did reply no please send them today and I can wait until the weekend, he said I have meeting today so wont be posting your item ? I promptly asked for my money back-not very good service.

His service has slipped over the years. Used to be that he was expensive, but it was there on the shelf and dispatched promptly from what I hear.

Dan at BMXCity on the other hand, is sound as a pound. Massively helpful always.

No mate, what I mean is in years gone by he was ok. Recently, he's been crap - at least from what I read on here.

Fcuk him though, he should never be too busy for a customer, end of.

Top hat washers are easy enough to buy, Stodgy has them, BMXCity has them, not a problem.

i thought the point of running a retail business was to sell items. sounds as if he can't be arse'd

he's not bothered as you don't live in the good old US of A and you're only buying some poxy washers.  now if you were spending £4k on one of his wheel nuts or seat post clamps then it might be a diferent matter  ;D
