Hi fellas,
scored these of the bay the other day (some of you might have seen them) and was going to have them powdered along with my hutch windstyler frame and forks as I couldn't afford the ladder bars :-[
They were sold as Rebel freestyler bars, but wanted to check and find out more if possible. I have seen this design of bars for Raleigh and CW and wanted to know how you tell the difference??
They were originaly chrome, which looks to be in good shape apart from at the ends of both crossbars :daumenhoch:

Cant see a stamp or makers mark anywhere, should there be one??
Any info on them would be greatly appreciated as I would like to know more so I can decide if they are worth restoring or powdering :daumenhoch:

They look a bit beefy for raleigh bars mate :daumenhoch:
-
I'd say that they are Rebel, not seen any for ages, but the caps look familiar.
No one would put a rebel sticker on a set of CW's, unless they were mental!
Rebel were the copies BITD, so I can't see why you'd dress up something to look like a copy.
Rebels were pretty good though, I used to have some 10 x 30 CW style bars, fookin massive, I was only 5'!!

Cheers for that. I was hoping they were anything other than Raleigh :) Didn't really want to build a nice hutch frame with Burner parts :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

Do they have diamond cut knurling on the stem clamp area? If not they are NOT CW's :daumenhoch:
-
definately not Raliegh, the cross bar tubes are way too fat
-
Liking the sound of that. :daumenhoch: If anyone has a pic of the raleigh ones so we can compare, that would be good. I have no reason to doubt that they are Rebel, but thought there might be a stamp somewhere :daumenhoch:

Tioga did some similar also.
try looking on the Museum reference page.

Nope, very unlikely to be Tioga unless stamped; they look like 2nd gen CW Freestyle Bars, they even look like they have diamond cut knurling on them ::).

I'm going with Rebel bars
still trying to work out mine - look close but lower twin bars
no knurling
but have the same pinch bend that CW did (do yours ?)
tioga ends are round - CW's are shorter - Raleigh's are smaller and plastic - these have the look of rebel ends ?
these are a nice geometry and look alright with the twin bar height 8)
