Title: 1985 Profile Prostyler ,
Post by: Darren KAP on May 05, 2012, 08:57 PM
I got this frame , forks yesterday , it's a 1985 Profile Prostyler  :smitten:  it's believed that less than 300 were made as Profile missed their chance to cash in on the freestyle market . Anyway after having a stressful week at work Stella and tinkering with kids bikes were a must   ;)  I would have had it finished last night but due to the amount of Stella consumed i fookin broke my chain link extractor  :knuppel2:   ::)   :LolLolLolLol:  only thing that will be getting changed will be the pedals as i've got some DX's i've just restro'd but i've put the others on for now as i'm thinking of taking it on the Blackpool meet next Saturday  :daumenhoch: i've been up and down the road and love how it feels  :smitten:

Wanted Profile cranks, proper seatpost and pedals  :daumenhoch:

 :daumenhoch:
:LolLolLolLol: what's wrong with a Shimano DX seat post , if you read it properly the pedals to go on are DX too  ::) :LolLolLolLol:

the stealth look put me off, sorry.

You got it yesterday and you built it today  ??? ???

Christ Darren, that's some work.

I got my Profile 3 weeks ago and and other than squirting oil everyday down the seat tube i'd done nothing to it until today when i went over Phils for a 2 man removal job of the jammed seatpost.  :4_17_5: :4_17_5:  Thankfully it shifted eventually without the use of a drill. The same couldn't be said about his seatpost in his frame though.  :crazy2:

I need some chrome pads for mine though. It should be ready for MK13.  :LolLolLolLol:

More time spent thinking about the seat post and crank would have made this a real cracker IMO, knocking up a build in a couple of hours is all very well but sometimes taking a little more time makes all the difference  :daumenhoch:

Nice Framesets not sure about the choice of parts though? Tuffs and Profile Cranks definately and some proper tyres and a different seatpost.

But hey it's not not my bike.

Be nice to see what it looked like before you built it up.

Nowt wrong with that Darren......Dont be too upset if a few people don't like it, you have another 40 odd bikes, a couple of people dont like how you've done this one.....so what?
You cant please everyone.

Keep building the way you do pal........... like YOU want.  :daumenhoch:
