Title: Motomags - Part with them or hold on to them?
Post by: midschooljon on May 08, 2012, 07:19 PM
Ive been sitting on a pair of Motomags for years now and think the time has finally come to part with them. They have been sitting for a long time so the original gold paint has corroded quite badly. They are also covered in dust and spiders webs so look quite sorry for themselves. The poor finish aside though they are in great condition with no chips, buckles, or cracks. They spin smooth and true and its because of this Ive always held on to them because I know with very little work they could be an immaculate set of wheels.

The thing is my passion is firmly in the mid school scene, and I cant see myself ever using these in a build. As such Im considering finally letting them go.

The question is... Am I dreaming thinking I can put these on Ebay with a starting bid of £200.00? I know they are sought after but would a starting price of £200.00 be unreasonable for a set of wheels in this condition? To be honest if I couldnt get at least £200.00 Id probably just hang on to them for another 10 years. I dont want the auction to pop up on here as one of those ebay seller bashing threads  :LolLolLolLol:

I would love to sell them on here but the problem is Im not sure what they worth.  :-\

While I dont think I will ever use them I do certainly value them, and I dont want to sell them for £200 only to find out I could have got more for them. I figured by sticking them on the bay with a start of £200 it can only go up, and I at least stand a chance of getting close to the current market price.

If I knew a honest price for them Id gladly sell them on here for that, but Im just not sure what that figure is, and after holding on to them for so long Id kick myself if I let them go for too little.

Advertise them on here at £300 ono offer then, If they only make £200 on Ebay you then need to take all the fees out plus the possible agro of some muppett opening a dispute as"they werent what they thought they would be"

After some consideration I've decided to post them up on here in the for sale section before trying eBay. I'll think of a price today and post them up when I get home after work. If they going to get sold it would be good for them to go to a rad BMX member.
