Title: dk copy stem
Post by: kev-s on May 12, 2012, 08:54 PM: just bought this for £12 off a fellow member, i thought it was a 90's dk stem and that someone had polished away the engraving, on closer inspection when comparing it to my genuine 90's 1" dk stem i noticed these differences

rear of the copy stem isnt as rounded as the dk and the shafts knurling isnt as rough other than that its the same, found some markings/emblem on shaft between where its says max and the shaft size 21.1 (see pics)

me and the rad member i bought it off are curious to who it was made by and no one on the museum seems to know

that particular shape dk came out at the beginning of the 90's and they all were engraved the same as all the 80's dk's were so either someone has polished it off or it left the factory some how without being engraved/missed by quality control

Post by: kev-s on May 13, 2012, 06:45 PM: if it is a copy its good one! as the only difference i can make out is the fact its not engraved, everything else looks spot on, it even has the alloy wedge, where my copy has a steel one

yes thats a dk, i can even see some of the og engraving in between the stem bolts.

homeless and WAL both used unstamped dk stems
