Title: restoring mx1000's
Post by: benno on May 22, 2012, 10:22 PM: Hi guys just stripped and painted my mx 1000's and put a new decal over the stamped dia compe bit ,
BUT now i want to paint in the MX bit anyone got any ideas the best way or is it a case of tiny brush and a steady hand
or a blue sharpie pen or the like :)

Post by: sid1972 on May 22, 2012, 10:25 PM: I use a paint pen, any that goes over the edges can be rubbed off. I then use clear varnish with a fine brush to seal it.

i was planning on laquering them after so that will seal it in

Post by: sid1972 on May 22, 2012, 10:48 PM: your better off with a large flat nib and paint over the surface - rub the excess off when its been on a few minutes. Use the flat edge of a knife wrapped in a tight cloth. This leaves the paint in the recess.
