Kill the frame?
It'll have been like that for years, unless you're keeping it in a damp shed it aint gonna come to any harm
Re powdered ones are ten a penny :-\
Survivor build FTW :4_17_5:
-
Sweet score... :daumenhoch:
The Pro Race aint particularly rare, they are just restickered Aero Pro's that Raleigh brought out in 85' to celebrate Craig Schofield's World Champs Win... check the headtube decal 8)

Are they lavender or faded blue tuffs on the Quad craig? interested in them if they're lavender and you want rid of em :daumenhoch:

Normally i would keep like it is but the rust has settled in everywhere the picture dont do it justice. i recently got a Curtis Freestyler which i have kept in survivour condition which i just love.

Yeah i have found this out now, Raleighs are not my cuppa so dont know a great deal about them but what i do know a good survivour like this one is pretty rare.

A bit of oil, re-grease all the bearings, swap the tyres for some re-issue comps, and ride them as they are. Restoration, as has been said, is a history killer :(
Great finds though and love them both :4_17_5:

Keep the Quad as it is pal, looks fine as is :daumenhoch:

No ash......it needs spokes (so he can give the tuffs to me) ;D

Its got the wrong Stem and the Tuff's were fitted after, they came with Araya Aero's laced to Suntour Hubs.
To be honest most of the Pro Race's that turn up are pretty decent as they are the last of the Tange Framed bikes that Raleigh put out... 1986 some perhaps in 87.

Seeing as the reflectors are still on the wheels makes you wonder if they were swapped out at the shop. Doesn't look like the owner was clued up does it?
