They are plastic, coated with a chrome finish which is now less than perfect I need to recoat them with a paint of some kind. I think machine polishing would melt the plastic, they are beyond that anyhow.

Modern chrome paints are pretty decent now also :daumenhoch:

Post by: stidds on June 07, 2012, 03:24 PM: You can buy rolls of very thin aluminium that can be heated slightly to form shapes, then cut off the excess. I have used it many times.

Post by: meticulous on June 07, 2012, 04:05 PM: forget the chrome spray, unless you know exactly what you are doing.... the tin foil trick sounds the best option to me.... :)

The original Sugino are only coated , thats why they're always worn on relatively lightly used ones :-\

Post by: meticulous on June 11, 2012, 07:33 AM: to get the correct chrome finish with chrome spray it has to be applied over a very high gloss black finish, i've tried it before and its shite.... but thats part in me being heavy handed and blond!
