Title: Put My S&M Dirt Bike back together.
Post by: fugazi on June 29, 2012, 02:35 PM
Built this up again as it wasn't right the frame was just tucked away in the box, got to put some pegs on & change the seat & stem when I can find My gyro plate, probably get some Blackwall tyres on there as well as I'm over the Tanwall craze I think!

Yeah, Black tyres going back on it, I originally had those Tanwalls on some Black rims & They looked real nice, They look a bit lost with Chrome rims I think. Funny thing is I hated Tanwalls bitd & loved it when all Black Freestyle tyres started getting about, nostalgia eh?!

I remember when You got it old bean, You didn't like the 14" back-end as I recall? I got it from LLP Lenny as the t/t was too short for Him! I deepened the dropouts to make the back-end a bit shorter & so I could run 30-10 without a half-link. I love those Dookie Dirt Bike decals  :daumenhoch:  Del did a top job with 'em, & in true S&M style I got them on crooked  :2funny:

Them's Demolition Momentum tyres in 20x2.0 Jaymz, light & grippy wire bead tyres  :daumenhoch: If I let them go I'll give You a shout, good price new though £20 each.

Yes Glen it's a 20.5" t/t. Only took a little out the drops, back-end's 13.75ish & wheelbase is 36.25 with Odyssey forks, if only the b/b was 11.5! If My back holds up & I can get back into riding properly again I'm going to S&M for a custom frame  :daumenhoch:

That looks nice, but yes it would be even better with black wall tyres.

Cheers Dudes  :daumenhoch:

Yep Glen 11.8, it's a factory stock '08 frame, pretty nimble but stable  :daumenhoch: I went from My V2 Blackbike to the DB & stopped riding it as the higher b/b's on S&M's seemed to make My back & sciatica worse, but I think it was just My knackered body more than anything! If I go custom it's going to be 20.5 or 20.75 t/t, 8.5 standover, 74.5 h/a, 71 s/t, 11.5 b/b & 13.4 to 14 back-end. Oh and welded on Chainstay brake mounts!
