After watching the clips on you tube of the mongoose story I'd really like to get one, dont think I could afford a complete restored build ? so would be looking for a survivor f+f etc motomags will also be out of my budget but I'm loving the frames (or a similar era goose frame would be ok) them forks, goose neck stem and bars etc, also would like a pedal back brake :daumenhoch: so lads where is the best place to look? does anyone have an old f+f's or parts of any discription? what type of prices would I have to pay? any advice on anything would be helpful, cheers Carl :)

I don't own one myself but my mate has loaned this to my shop as a showpiece so if you need any advice on serial # placement, stamps, or dimensions etc. feel free to ask. :daumenhoch:
100% OG 79 Motomag apart from the tires. Even the pedals (not pictured) are stamped Mongoose

That is Awsome :4_17_5: how much is something like that ???
-
:LolLolLolLol: now you're asking I don't know as I never tried to buy one. I think he got it from the US but paid a pretty penny for it.
I'm reckon Bobafett could help you out with a price guide ;)
-
I found a Mongoose very siimilar in the US for nearly £600 says its Nickel finish? but it has motomags, and pads etc ,bet the shipping will guzump it tho :(
-
Nickel finish sounds right to me for an early Motomag. This one is nickel, its got the pads with it as well, they are red early goose snap pads.
If you've found something it might be worth pming Jon (Bobafett), he'll know. A lot of it should be stamped Mongoose including the unusual stuff like the reflector mounts and the pedals, (even the seat should have a stamped metal badge on the back of it but I cant tell with this one as it's too faded).

i've a 79 motomag nickel and an 80 motomag with motomags on and they are one of my favouite bikes now , the frames themselves arent that expensive its just when you get all the other mongoose named stuff it starts to add up (headsets, motomag wheels mongoose bb etc)
-
As Spen says i've got a few , i just need to get my site supporters tag sorted and i will put them all up for sale . Got lots of other bikes and bits too . ;)
-
try and get a complete from bmxmuseum, with motomags already on as it's far cheaper this way.
if you get one you'll build your muscles up though as there not much lighter than a 125 motorbike.
nickel's the way to go on the frame and forks, but watch out for frames where pricks have drilled behind the BB to put a kickstand on.
