Why is this posted in OS BMX Racing Jon, there is no OS racing at the Brits (I think there should be and have said so to the BMX Commission)

I guess you posted it just to spread the apathy for an unfortunate situation

Good work Jon   ???  Rally the troops huh

JJ, Its not unfortunate though is it, that would imply that it was unavoidable, bad luck... a puncture just before the finishline.

Its bad planning and organisation from an organisation that is celebrating 50,000+ members and many, many new Alfa Romeo's. The bit about the venue changing their plans I get but it is still back to those in charge to handle the issue in an appropriate way and they haven't. The response from the very roots of the sport are there for those in charge to see, listen too and most probably ignore.

Love you  :-*

Planning permission applied for mid December 2011 - 60 holiday homes.

Planning passed beginning of July 2012.

Construction to start November 2012.

Believe me, the company that owns this park knew exactly what was going on and when everything was going to fall.

Shafted.

I agree that its shit that the date has been moved. I also think that the people who own the venue should have honoured the event.

BUt blaming the people with 2 many Alfa Romeos is kind of barkng up the wrong tree. They are way above anything BMX on the domestic level. They dont know it even happens and they dont care either.

All the crap talking about the situation aint gonna make it any better though. Talk of a boycott is just stupid. This is a great year for BMX and a date change shouldnt change that. A poor event will have an effect on businesses that support races all the year round, the traders rely on sales at this event, even publishers need a good event. But hey that wont have been thought about.

Heyho. Same old same old this BMX world

2 reasons - first to spread the word amongst those that race OS during the regionals but might well have been planning to race the Brits (eg Fizzman, Critch, Cotty etc), and secondly to express my annoyance.
I'm still VERY positive about BMX in most aspects, I'll be encouraging the kids at Bradford/Yeadon, working on the setup of their bikes, running the startgate if I'm not riding, promoting grass roots racing and helping in whatever limited way I can as ever :daumenhoch:

Its posted every where Jon, why do you think they'd look in OS racing for stuff about NS?

Glad your positive in other areas, especially Yeadon

Yeah Yeadon is riding nice right now, my 9 year old was throwing some nice whips around yesterday morning, and sizing up the doubles after the first table (about the only thing he's not jumped there yet), and my 5 year old is doing full laps no bother. There were a few gouges on the first straight that looked like R/C car damage. I did my best to fix them with my feet but didn't have any tools or brushes with me.
