Bought this as a complete bike off ebay for about 30 quid just over a year ago. Don't know much about these bikes, and I only ever knew one person who had one bitd. I'm guessing it was an entry level bike, as it weighed a ton with it's original parts. I think it's from 1984, but am not too sure. I certainly saw one in 1984/85. This is how it looked when I picked it up:

The one I remember from 1984 had a different blue/yellow/gold colour scheme which I preferred. Got the frame repainted and repro decals from Del:

I wanted to reduce the weight of the bike and upgrade the parts, so it's not to factory spec. It's taken me a year to get the parts together, but I finished it today and here it is:

I'll be starting work on my superfox within the next few weeks. Will be used as a future MK racer, as i dont want to destroy my Fox SE! Are you going to MK this year?

Nice resto Andy :daumenhoch:
Always nice to see the lower end bikes getting the resto treatment especially when they turn out like that 8)

I think it's because it's the white framed version. Found this pic of an original blue paint job black lion. This bike went unsold on ebay a few years back. I couldn't bid on it as the person selling it lived in Northern Ireland and refused to ship it to the uk (even though I would be paying the postage). The lion's tail appears to be all black in the pic. I do think that a white tail would look good though.

Stunning build me thinks. I personally like to see this kind of bike restored. They seem more real world to me. I certainly wasn't ever lucky enough to have a Hutch, Haro, GT, PK Ripper etc BITD. I wouldn't have been lucky enough to have owned this either and would be really proud to own something like that now. It looks like a lot of work has gone into it and you should be really proud 8)
