Girder forks - are they era correct in 2012 :crazy2:
-
Tell you what though, its amazing how quickly you get responses to a post if you put haro in the title.......
This is the Ikonix RACE concept bike. As posted on Facebook this morning.
Just thought I would put this one on here as iI havent seen any photos anywhere else........yet!
:)
-
Put some dropper bars on that bad boy and it would make a mint road bike for a 5 year old! :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
To be fair though BMX racing has been heading in this direction for some time.
-
I that a DISC BRAKE on the back ive just spotted....?
-
its the future guys, all that you see is going to be the norm..
-
PLAINLY A BREATH OF FRESH AIR ..looking at what is on the racks in black black or black ..i was begining to believe that the riders were dead or the colour formatters were blind
it has an old fork design ,new format . hip colours its about fookin time
:daumenhoch:

Is this really the new bike that Bob Haro has designed and they have been o secretive about?
In my opinion, they should have kept it a secret, it's FOOKIN UGLY AS SIN.
-
this is just the race bike proto, not the super secret freestyle ride, but was still under wraps.
-
Yup I like that. Get shot of those wheels though.

or this behold .....the im so bored in design let a deceased man do it ...new range mongoose sample
again its a breath of fresh air .20 years ago every elder member here fought to own an individual bmx ...not baaa zzzzz sheep. ..what happened !`
-
A lot of things in that design make sense to someone of my size - like the forks, and the beefy looking chainstays (having just broken a frame in that area). The wheels look terrible and someone put some road pedals on it by mistake :crazy2:
-
what is so wild about this bike .?
tuff style wheels black 6 spoke
44ct driver
open rider bars
this style forks which are fire hot MATTHEWS BMX
(http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w377/snapper94/matt.jpg)
bright colour
pedals
chain drive
arent they here in design here .
as for body preference s wont larger men buy simply a larger model ?
so what the big huff n puff ..again i suggest view your local flatlanders in grieving black, black or black & zzzzzzz yawn black .then you will see this bmx as a slice of heaven
-
As a concept its great apart from the wheels :daumenhoch:
Disc brakes have been seen on race bikes before,as have triple clamp forks :)
Is it the future?,who knows, with disc brakes you get safe consistant braking in all conditions, thats got to be good for racing :daumenhoch:
-
If the freestyler looks even vaguely like that he has lost a sale here :yahoo_silent:
-
looks ok till you see the forks :2funny: :2funny:
carbon bmx's arent exactly new, gt done one a few years ago and i wonder how they will stand up to a few crashes/mass pile ups
why the 44/16 gearing surely 25/9 or there abouts would be better due to weight saving etc.....
wouldnt trust a set of carbon forks over jumps, saw a set of ti forks snap today on a small transfer!!!
-
Can`t see pics-anyone have a link for me?
-
i really like it :)
Me too.
-
Hey I already have one of those, that I built last month....
I have also done the whole disc brake on a race bike also...

Perhaps I am really Bob Haro ;)

nothing new with disc brakes on freestyle either they fitted them to hutch trick stars
-
POS :uglystupid2:
worse than the Changa 2 :crazy2:
-
Is it made of wood ???
-
Gash
-
Yup I like that. Get shot of those wheels though.
x2
-
gotta move with the times boys.
its not built for us old farts who like a bit of chrome ;D
-
i really like it :)
Ditch the wheels and the pedals tho ! :daumenhoch:
-
Looks cool, I even like them carbon skywayish things.
-
Minging.
-
I wonder what the original Freestyler would have looked like if all of you were consulted? Some sort of mutant Grifter offspring. :LolLolLolLol:
I quite like the FF but the wheels are naff - the set hanging up behind would be a better fit. Deep section CF rims with some nice hubs would look much better IMO. :)

;D ;D ;D
Its different and possibly the future, and most definitely not was expected.
I quite like it just not sure on the forks, think they look to cumbersome for the sleek lines of the frame.

As an engineering design concept it’s good, there are loads of little features that I really like.
Its progression, bit like concept cars some make it others don’t
Some die hard old schoolers may struggle with the disc brakes and carbon this that and the other, but like it or not kids always want the next best thing and bike companies push their engineers/designers to come up with it.
One thing I am struggling with is why has the Godfather of freestyle designed a race bike.
Yes it is ugly but then was the brief “function over form” look at some of the fastest cars/bikes on the road, The Gumpet or Bimota Tesi 20 fooookin ugly but all go like a Geordie lass after 10 pints.
At the end of the day its got people talking and that’s one of the reasons why concept’s are so cool.
Well done.

go like a Geordie lass after 10 pints.
Quote of the year Pete, quality :D
Personally I think its different and I like the frame shape, i'm not sure about the fork design but the only way to see whether its a winner or not is to see it in action against other race bikes out there. Be interested to see what the freestyle versions will be like.
-
Is there any test hints on this yet? Be interesting to see how other manufacturers respond to it...
-
ooooh!!!!!! i love it, does it mean everybody will be my friend now :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:
