The price is still £100 but £75 handling fee ;D
Perfect :daumenhoch: are you in?
Count me in too. It'll be a double challenge for me. I can't stick to a budget for 5hit. My current "it'll only cost a few bob" build has gone daft! and I've only got an adjustable spanner and some rusty pliers.
Are there any rules about what it must have on it like brakes and a seat. That would save a few bob if not ;)
I'm in. Sounds good to me :daumenhoch:
Frame and Forks found :D i forgot i had this hanging up
Looks like a decent repair that :daumenhoch: Hope you have tons of wet or dry that seat neads some serious elbow grease ;Dtons of wet n dry mate just no patience :LolLolLolLol:
Anyone else fancy a stab at the build off? :4_17_5:
missed this threadLove this bike, just has something about it, somehow i have a pic of this flaoting on my desktop somewhere
not sure if this will qualify and sorry to drag it up again :LolLolLolLol: ,
wondered if you might consider this and the attached threads in the link?
be warned it is a bit of a saga, just read through it and shouldn't of done :-[ :-[ :LolLolLolLol: strangely enough i posted the first thread up just before MK :D and i stand by my statement for a small prize awarded for a deffinate id on the f+f cos i still have'nt got a clue :daumenhoch:
and the epic saga resulting in a bike that is just gathering dust, and left me firmly sat on the "ride em don't polish em " side of the fence :LolLolLolLol: :daumenhoch:

have been informed that its a raleigh shock ( the decals are indeed shocking looking ;D but cool ) its approx 1986 / 87
should be fun
Frame and Forks found :D i forgot i had this hanging up
Get some pics up :daumenhoch: or is it top secret? ;D
That's better than most of the proper trophys. :LolLolLolLol:
hi ive only been a member for a few weeks and have been watching this thread just wanted to know if i could put my name down for this build off i bought a 85 universal tracker in good survivor condition with a box of surplus spares from a burner build for £40 of a mate (he only paid a £5 for the bike from car boot) so well within budget will post pics later as ive already started stripping and cleaning ready for paint will post some pics later of bike and parts. Look forward to seeing the budget builds progress and that raleigh shock is a awesome find im jealous
Here's mine before I tear it down ready for a rub down and another respray
Then new crank, headset, handle bars, seat, stem, stem clamp, wheels and tyres and it should be done lol

Only a small change lol
I'm not trying to piddle on your chips but isn't the date up to 1995?Hmm pisser, will have to check the frame when i get it, i thought they were 96's and miss read the dates thought the vut off was 97 for some reason
It does say the end of 95 so yours might have been made in 95??
Tell me its a late 95 Jaymz :'( would be great to have you on board :daumenhoch:well Im turning it into a standard STA and they were built from 94 ;)
That Heavy tools deffo a 96 then Jaymz? :'(still not sure mate. Will post up the serial soon see if anyone knows. It's line inch headset so maybe
Still got a cheapo chrome aero frame you are welcome to for nowt if it is a 96 and you can be arsed with another build :daumenhoch:every single one I've found is a 96. And I flogged the last of OS parts at mk so an OS build would cost a fortune to start off. Looks like I'm out of this one. Unless I can turn up any new info
Looks like I'm out of this one. Unless I can turn up any new info
this is how i got it £40 of my mate it was in pretty good nick i felt a bit guilty stripping it
Looks like I'm out of this one. Unless I can turn up any new info
Im sure everyone who has entered won't mind you taking part Jay , I know rules have to be set out but it is a bit of fun at the end of the day . :daumenhoch:

Totally agree, the whole point of this build off is to have a bit of fun, maybe try a few ideas you wouldn't try on an expensive build and generally indulge our hobby. Lets face it, most of us started out with cheapo rides :daumenhoch:
The only reason i set the date at 95 is because bikes later than that can be picked up pretty cheap and dont really represent a challenge. If anyone has an issue with Jaymz entering then chime in or pm me, otherwise will will assume the serial number on Jaymz ride is inconclusive and could be a late 95 :daumenhoch:
Did i not mention Darren, white builds are banned :LolLolLolLol:
Nice one :daumenhoch:not quite. Decals and some polishing to go
Does that mean that Jaymz is the first one to finish his build?
Get a picture up :)
Free to a good home, cover the cost of postage and theyre yours

Good to have you aboard Steve :daumenhoch:

The idea is you use this thread for build updates, requests, teasers etc and i will start a poll thread like the usual BOTM threads when the time comes :daumenhoch:
You still need those bars Darren? ;)
Does my Haro salmon x2 wtf count? Its only cost £27.98 to build. 20 for the bike, 7.98 for cables and the rest stuff already had.
Yeah put those bloody rotten 30th anni Haro's away and get on with a proper build :LolLolLolLol:
I'm out as i've no chance of getting it done now just far too much on at work :(
:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: funny fooker , you'll be able to enter your full collection Chris ,,,,,,,,,, wiat a minute you can't i've got some scrap here belonging to you :2funny:
What's going on then?I keep going to the entry thread and nothing!!has anyone or is anyone going to finish in time?close is only 2 days away!! :idiot2:don't worry damo they'll be plenty to choose from, you'd of hated mine anyway ;D :daumenhoch:
No worries to the guys who fell out, we all have stuff that gets in the way of our little bikes :)
Damo, i can promise you there will be at least one bike to look at come sunday evening ;)
May be the only one though :-\
:LolLolLolLol: been rushing with mine too and made a mess of the gold paint. Bloody stuff takes forever to dry.
How about we extend the deadline for entries to next sunday 23rd with voting closing on the 30th? That way it wont directly clash with peoples plans for christmas or new years eve :-\
