Title: From eBay tip to Smick (sic)
Post by: Clean on August 07, 2012, 09:29 PM
Thought I should pull the story from my other thread to here, as it seems more appropriate.......

1983 Kuwaraha Nova, looked like this when I picked her up:

(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/x71/rkw1971/KuwarahaNovaSurvivor4.jpg) (http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/x71/rkw1971/KuwarahaNovaSurvivor3.jpg)

Spen got hold of it briefly:

And now looks like this after a sprinkling of magic powder to the Frameset by SBD, Del's Decals, some collecting of parts, and a trip to the chromers for the bars:

Almost 100% factory specification, save the odd colour deviation and repop.  :angel:

Just awaiting some DC Cable Clips (the Top Tube is fatter than the usual 1") and some Stainless Steel Cap Heads for the Stem.  ::)

Fooking lush to ride, if a mote heavier than my other love, my DB Pro Large.  :smitten:

Can't wait to to roll her around Wigan and scratch her!  :idiot2:

The love has seriously been found this Spring and Summer as I dumped all the stuff I bought when I was noobing and focused on a build that took me back to the day.

Right..... what's next?

Finally, I need to big up the real heroes of this build; Olympic Gold for each and every one!   :Great_Britain:

* SuperBikeDan
* Del
* mattfx81
* skywaaay
* nickswan1
* J.T
* Diggler
* Senzo Milano
* meticulous
* mongoose72
* oldschoolace
* brummie
* bodamus
* bullseye
* kuwahero

* A selection of great eBayers (they do exist)

And last, but absolutely not least, my personal RAD Coach, Spen69!   :4_17_5:

Goooooooooooooo on!  :daumenhoch:

*ps* Apologies to anyone I forgot to thank  :-[

*pps* The as-built piccies are from my Blackberry; better quality piccies will follow when she is finished, cleaned and polished!  ;)

I have absolutely no fooking idea what smick is but I would imagine that Kuwie has it (whatever it is).

Lovely bike, really takes me back.  :4_17_5:

Yep, it's yours Adam. Word is you've had it for years but still got no idea how it works...... :2funny:

I must admit I loved this bike as a survivor but the cranks were rotted into it and in the end it's Rich's bike and he's done a great job of getting everybody else to help him build it (which he fully acknowledges!) For me there was a whole 10mins of the dis-assembly period of this bike that I tried to save that seatpost and another less than 1 min for the crank, but let's face it, Rich is about as likely to get his hands dirty on a job as Adam, so I just fooking did it for him....

Will there be hygenic hand-cream dispensors at MK for this pair ??? Who knows...... :2funny:

BTW Rich that is a cracking bike and thankfully you will be riding it which of course makes me pleased to have helped! Awesome bud, just awesome :daumenhoch:
