I'm sure it's been done before but I was thinking of trying to build the heaviest bike I can. From decent brands, no catalogue crap. The idea came about after seeing that mongoose at MK.
Any ideas on nasty, heavy, ugly or nice stuff would be good.
What was the heaviest frame built? Standard? DK SOB? Heavy tools standard copy? War pig?
LMK what you think are the heavy weights.
-
steel 2 hip pork wow they are heavy.
-
My STA weighs a ton, frame is for sale too :D
-
My heavy tools ruler is built up and feels well under 30lbs, even took it for a lap at MK and got a manual out of it!! So knock that off your list of heavy beasts

Hoffman Deebo _ weighs in at 15KG/33LB :idiot2:
-
As Dan says, 2hip Pork, in cromo is about 8.5 pounds, you could run some xposure `ox' bars, about 5.5 pounds!
chuck some old forks up it, you're at 20 pounds before sneezing!!

Can't believe I forgot the "pork". I am on a budget though so will have to see what I can find at a reasonable price.
Aiming for over 50lb if I do it.

i sold a mkll taiwan made DK general lee at mk, that was the heaviest frame and forks i ever felt, when it was built up i reckon easily 36lbs
-
My zone was a 40lb er in original form. I think it has steel based air in the tubes. :-D
-
Next gen Holmes/Dirtbikes were heavy beasts >:D
-
think there is only one frame and fork upto the job
zima f+f
im sure steve geall said they come in at 16lbs
-
i just started to build this that munnymark let me have at MK.
i now know why he wanted to keep the alloy one he got too.

the heaviest bike i ever had was my 1994 standard lengthy frame with gsport prong forks, gsport hubs laced to alex supra e rims, 6 piece strip bars, primo super tender izers, hand grenade style pegs made by my mate but a beefed up version and to stop it being too heavy i had a set of redline 401s on it. my young nephew was round my house one day and knocked into my bike making it fall on him. it broke his leg. thinking about it, i still have almost everything lying in my shed.

Think I might try and build something cheap for the bunnyhop comp at MK next year. 40lb plus :daumenhoch:
-
Who won that? And how high?
-
I saw the Alloy one and the steel one together at MK, when Harris handed me the Alloy one I didn't realsie it was alloy and was well shocked at how much it weighed! (light)
-
that pork is hellish :daumenhoch:
-
I bought the steel pork from Shiners, and the ally one from Dan Harris within 3 minutes, I was riding my steel pork, with an unbalanced load of ham!
I didn't really want another steel one, but nos/shop soiled for £20, I could'nt resist. luckiy, for my suspension, Dordy took it at cost, but I did spend an uneven night in the caravan due to the weight!!!
Not sure what i'm doing with the ally one yet, as I love the look of my NOS (when built) steel one, managed to get the complete bike sub 30lb, so with the ally frame, should be around 27lb!!!

Thinking I may just re powder in a vanilla ice cream colour and build as is.....
thoughts?

RAW is LUSH, don't paint it.
-
Think I was there when you bought it off Harris.
-
Keep it raw 8)
-
Munny, the alloy Pork You got off Dan, was it Yellow? If so that was originally My old frame I had 13 odd years ago! :daumenhoch:
-
The porks are nice (in a chubby kind of way :LolLolLolLol:).
I've just done a deal on Nomads STA so will certainly have a heavy bike. As for parts, it has some on and we'll see what comes along. And I'll get to use some of my Dave Young "Blackheart"bars :4_17_5:.
I need some forks for it though if there's any about? Cheap mind as I'm on a strict budget. ;D
-
Just looking at that raw pork again. Lovely :smitten:
-
I'm not painting the raw steel one, that will stay as is.
The yellow ally one from Dan Harris (ex Fugazi) is getting the re finish. Its looking a bit tired and yellow isn't my colour!!!

A new school lad picked it up at Leicester last year and was very shocked at the weight of it lol
-
I'm planning on taking it down the skatepark. See how the skinny kids get on with it.
A bit annoyed I sold my primo stiffee pegs at MK. I didn't expect to be needing them but they'd have added a couple of pounds :2funny:
