We all have seen price's of parts go up and down in the market and especially on ebay
it seems to have changed around on some parts - shimano dx pedals in survivor condition to resto have seemed to dropped ~ dia compe brakes in all versions ( bar new style) seems to have shot through the roof ~ nos rims seem to command a high price, but wheels in good condition/used seem to right down
so what else is changing and command a different price from a couple of years ago and why ?
cheers B
-
it's all too expensive if you ask me bloody old tat :LolLolLolLol:
but did see a nos aero reflex frame and forks finish on ebay last night for £260 inc the postage

Jesus-shitting-Christ Matt!!!
You sure you didnt advertise them as DX?!! :D
-
I think it was just a random one off... 2 people were on it and just didnt want to loose/get beat
-
S&M seems to be turning into the new HUTCH. Prices going up rather quickly even though its fairly easy to come by.
-
even a set of tiogqa rainbow labels in 20x1/38 went for over 250 usd
you have to be lucky if bidders get up in a bid war
my last gt padset went for 30 usd >:(
-
DC hinged clamps don't seem to be as high as they used to be.
-
is it because some people are restoring some of the lesser modals and standard parts are becoming more sought after ?
seats seem to shooting up, no mater what they are - viscount stuff seems to have gone from £20 to £80 ???
-
DC hinged clamps don't seem to be as high as they used to be.
Id say repop ones have killed the os ones, true people want os ,but first time builders £80 or £13?? What would you chose
Another record for me years ago i sold a nos blue dc seat clamp for £135
-
early mongoose stuff like padsets and stems and on the up....
-
Elina LB seats seem to have started coming down lately and KKT SMX pedals appear to be creeping up.
-
iv,e seen a few pad sets go through the roof of late.
mad money :idiot2: :idiot2:
-
Kashi MX seats more desirable than kashi aero's...
-
I prefer Kashi MX's to Aeros :)
-
So do I, I've sold off all my aero's apart from one on my rider...
-
Yet the mid school stuff is relatively cheap. I bought a Gyro XL for £17, nos.
-
try and sell a nice clean DK stem and no one want's one ::)
-
Why do Tuf Necks stems demand so much money? Especially when there are so many around!

Same goes for any pre 90's Hutch or Mongoose. They hardly hens teeth but people go bonkers for them.

Sounds like bendycock is sitting on a load of stuff that's not worth a white dog poo... FAF..! ;)

;D I got some nice bits that will fetch good money -trouble is i ain't selling them ;D
It the bits i'm looking for that are going for a high price now ::)
-
Hutch beartraps, everyother bike at MK had em on, sill bring crazy money.......defintely not rare :idiot2:
-
I started using some of the old DK square cornered stems instead of Tuf Necks or Pro Necks as you can get them for less than half the price.
Same with DC1020'S and 890's instead of MX1000's and 900's.
-
even the 1020's and 890's are going up ::)
have a DK round that is nos, but no ride to put it on ???
tyres are on the up for just cheapy's
DC cables are down - but that could also be due to the fakes out there
-
Try and sell a Kuwahara F&F, no one wants them either. ;D :LolLolLolLol:
-
Six months ago they were selling no problem. BMX fashions...
-
but if the builders know the prices ~ who is setting the price's ?
-
vintage stuff.....3-5 years ago few collected it, now getting stuff at a half decent price is really hard as a lot of people are getting into the vintage scene. 5 years ago I built a 78 Goose complete with motomags for around £400. Now you can kiss goodbye to over 1k easily for a mint one. And as for vintage se gear i'd say the prices have more than doubled in the last 2 years.

Greedy buggars!
-
but it does seem the stuff we thought was hard to get hold of and worth the money, now seems in some case's it doesn't command good price's
i know outside people just see money and no love
is it just a case as they see a name and think every thing in the range has to be pricey ?
-
I buy what I want to put on my bike. I haven't got the time or inclination to buy and sell for a profit. I didn't buy a thing from Shiners this year, I only bought a pair of hubs last year and they are now on my CW 24".
There seems to be a misconception out there by those who are not deeply involved in this hobby that anything BMX is worth a lot of money. At the end of the day it's worth nothing if nobody wants to buy it. As a rule, the sales in this forum are 'reasonably' priced. Some on Flea Bay are so over inflated it makes me wince when I read them. Unfortunately it's not the seller that's in the wrong, as long as people are buying the parts the prices will remain astronomical!
-
Times they are a stupid :wtf:

Classic bathtub curve, prices start high, drop to an all time low, then rise again, throw in a repro an all hell breaks loose. Same with anything "collectible" like someone said you should buy for love not money like others out there. My first banksy cost me £20 when he was a nobody (tesco soup can parody of andy warhole's soup can) now its worth rediculous money becaus its "trendy" aboung other things i bought a load of mini banksy books ina bulk deal, opend a few and left the doubles in wrapper, all but one go for mega bucks in read condition, the other you can pick up for £20-£50 On ebay no probs, its all about suply and demand, whats fashionable at the time.
