I have been tracking mine for the last week or so. I just had a look and it saw it had cleared UK customs. Do you think that I have got away with out paying import tax?? Hopefully that means that it wont be long before it arrives!
-
on the tracking it should say whether or not there are customs charges :daumenhoch:
-
It sometimes says cleared customs then a few days later it will then say awaiting payment of custom charges .
Did you buy the bars too
-
I've not even had a tracking number yet. :knuppel2:
-
Really looking forward to seeing these :daumenhoch:
-
i'll be chuffed to see one it seems like years since people were going on about these
-

Hate to say it but Kappy is right ;) ;D
It will tell you in a couple of days whether you owe the charge or not, fingers crossed for you.
-
If you haven't ordered one yet, contact Stodge at the Radshop as he will have em in 2 weeks

Knowing my luck I am going to arse raped by customs :LolLolLolLol:
I have been lucky in the past but I reckon there is going to be quite a few coming through customs so I doubt it will sneek in undetected!
-
Nothing on mine yet... :-\
-
Just checked this morning and it has arrived at the post office.
I really hope it slipped through the net tax free!
-
Ohhhhhhh exciting stuff! :D can't wait to see the unboxing :daumenhoch:
-
Any updates? Still no news here... :(
-
I've had no news of mine at all, apart from making the final payment. Will have to check :knuppel2:
-
I hate to piss on the parade but I saw one at Eurobike last week and even though it was nice, it was not without it's flaws.
Looking down from above the stays, the chainstay brace and seatstay brace did not line up and the chrome was a bit pitty in places. At the end of the day, it's an Asian made frame so despite the rhetoric from the Skyway mob, it is what it is and not a bad frame at all, it will just disappoint the perfectionists.
-
Mines going to be my commuter bike, so im not bothered about it being perfect. Just hope it rides as well as the 20" :daumenhoch:
-
Got my new 24" delivered this morning but it ain`t a Skyway.... ^"^

The one at the show might've been a prototype? That's why it was a bit out of line ???

It was on the Avocet stand who distribute in the U.K. I did ask them and even pointed out the wonky welding, they didn't say it wasn't a production bike. However I was really looking it over, i'm sure a lot of people wouldn't notice but I know Skyway were making a big song and dance about the build quality and I also know like the GHP debacle that peoples expectations of these projects can be very high!
Geometry looks good, it is a heavy old beast but built with some nice bits I reckon it will be a great shredder.
-
I certainly don't know who made the frame that Avocet had, but I can certainly say that every Skyway frameset that I've seen from our new production run has great welds with no misaligned stays! The frames are hand welded while clamped in a jig. The jig doesn't allow for chain stays to be misaligned.
Skyway had 800 framesets made on this production run. . 100 is going to a distributor in Australia, and about 650 are going to me at PlanetBMX in the US, with the remaining sets going to "family and friends", ex-factory riders, and warranty issues.
I received 180 sets already at PlanetBMX, with another 250 arriving tomorrow, with the balance arriving next week.
I've posted photos on our Facebook page- http://www.facebook.com/pages/Planet-BMX-ColoredTuffscom/125256600836815 (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Planet-BMX-ColoredTuffscom/125256600836815)
Feel free to check out the photos of the production framesets to see for yourselves how good they look.
If you ordered a frameset from me, you will get you tracking info in the next few days. I estimate it will take me a good 10 days to get out all of the framesets, starting today.
Thanks!
-Ed

Ed I am just saying what I saw, not dissing the frame of course, I went over there to specifically look at it because like many people, I am excited about it.
However the expectation will be sky high on these looking at the comments from yourself and Skyway and the one I saw was 'ok' not 'amazing'.
I hope the one I saw was a one off, possibly proto or pre production, who knows?
Anyway, it looks like it will ride great. Do you have a weight on it yet?
Clive

those frames look like they could do with a tad better protection for shipping ???
-
Ed, can I put a small request in???
Can you ship in reverse alphabetical order please ;) :D ;D :LolLolLolLol:
-
Rob 1 . What have you got going on there ?
I like the look of the skyway 24" . it's a pity I don't get to rife as much as I'd like to or I would bag one of those beauties !!!!
-
What I thought was my frame and forks tuned out to be the skyways, tyres and pad set I had ordered to build the frame up with :idiot2:
I cant wait to get mine!
-
What colour Skyways Lee?
You going on the London ride on the 16th?
-

Of course they will. Yesterday I spent the entire day just building boxes and sorting the frames out by serial number. The frames came to me in different boxes for truck delivery, and then all are repackaged.
The system that I have here at work has each box and frame with matching numbers. I then look up the corresponding serial number to the order number, and then remove that box off the warehouse floor to be mated up with its fork- with brake mounts, or non, and handlebar type. Every component is individually wrapped and boxed up, and labeled for dispatch.
I'll put photos of the shipping process up on Facebook today.

cool....they look real sweet! would love one if i had the funds :-\

I do like those Skyway Pedals but i refuse to pay the kind of money they're asking for them. :(
My Bike will be built to a budget and just used as a street cruiser/pub bike. Managed to collect some quite nice bits and pieces for it though. Cant wait to take delivery and get it built up. :D

:-[ Could've sworn when i ordered it that it was US BB. Thanks for pointing it out though :daumenhoch: I know the 24" Wheels dont look as good as the 20" ones, but a Skyway Frame needs Skyway Wheels!
-
wait till you ride em........BOING! flexy is an understatement! for riding it just has to be spokes.......24" tuffs are definately marmite wheels :buck2:

I have got black skyways for mine. I'm going for the classic black and chrome. I am not bothered about flex as I've got two other cruisers for proper riding.
I am coming on the London ride this time, no excuses :LolLolLolLol:

Will they arrive before the 16th...
