6 spokes v 5 spoke mags, what you reckon was the strongest? Bar Graphites..
-
I would say OGK/Peregrine, or maybe the Hutch, but I think they may all be made by OGK anyway ???
-
I heard OGKs where the best. Just the skyway 6 spoke intrigued me.
-
Motomags!
-
Peregrine masters always did me well as a youth :daumenhoch:

Anyone ever snapped a tuff2?
-
OGK's as Chris says :daumenhoch:

I give my 26 year old bleached skyway oe's plenty of stick down the skatepark and not a peep out of them so far (touch wood) ;D

Anyone ever snapped a tuff2?
Yep! Mia-judged the height of a set of steps as a lad and hot them full speed - bang went the tyre and so did the wheel rim, straight through. My LBS in Halesowen in the west midlands hung it on the wall for years as he'd only seen one broken but it was replaced under warranty no questions. My brother went back there 13 years ago when he was building my 30th birthday present and the bloke still remembered us 'cause of that busted wheel.....
Never seen one broken or come close since, but it was a set of concrete steps and I went staight over the bars and made a right mess of myself when I landed so i'm never doing that again!

It shows pal ::)

I had a black rear OGK back in the day, was all that was available in the area (and all i could afford after much saving), and was seemed to be seen as the poor cousin to the Tuff and never really liked. I got lots of negative comments about it and I would have loved a tuff but couldnt afford it.
Not really much help with regards to strength but at least my hub stayed straight to some of my mates Tuffs. :LolLolLolLol:
-
Never had a problem with Zytecs either tbh. :daumenhoch:
-
OGKs pi$$ed on Tuffs :4_17_5:

Wish they'd produced some with the webbing as they look cool. Wonder if there any prototypes kicking around? :smitten:

I`ve got an orphan front blue Tuff and an orphan front lavender in my stash . The rears were both snapped BITD .
-
Do you want shot of the blue?
-
I snapped endless tuffs. 2 spokes out of a back one on a bloody rockwalk ffs. One lasted me 30 minutes once. Total shite!!!!!
-
Nice skyway pictures. I never even contemplated heat build up in the hub at all. The coaster brake then must have been mandatory in America hence the provision in the drawing. Honestly never knew they snapped though.

Straightening them in the freezer is also an old wives tale. ::)

I did hear that. Often wondered how freezing plastic would return it to shape.

No , do you want shot of your rear ?
-
I ran both Skyways and OGK's back in the day. Had tuffs 1st, no breaks but rear hub started to bend in, so went to buy a replacement and it was £20, could buy a new wheel for £30!! so got a set of OGK mags which were on offer in a bike shop £38 for the pair (think it was called Oakleys Abington, Northampton). Never had no probs with the OGK's and used to land like a tank !!
