Title: Help with shipping costs from the States
Post by: factory pilot on September 09, 2012, 03:32 PM
Thinking of buying a bike from US Ebay...can anyone tell me approx costs of shipping a complete bike to the UK ?
I'm aware of bloody import duties, tax, customs etc but what should the cost of pure shipping be? Then with the duties ?
Many thanks for your help radsters :smitten:
regards Antony

Shipping should be around £60 - £100.

Customs charges vary but it could be about £50.

Cheers guys with all the input....
...I'd found a 'new' Haro 2009 freestyer...agreed a fee for the bike and post but the guy refused to play ball when it came to the customs form....bugger!!!
Its so unfair when it comes to importing anything bmx or vintage from the states....most people I've delt with have been cool but some people are too 'straight' to help us brits out
It makes some deals so expensive that its pointless to bother :yahoo_silent:

I use Bundlebox to get things over from the states as it gives you a US address and so you can bid for things even if they say they don't ship internationally as you set the address up in eBay. Not sure if they handle whole bikes though. They tend to be more expensive than going direct with a courier but then I get to prefer stuff that the Yanks won't normally ship
