Its a confuser now with a side pull brake now on the new forks which are new and up to date. Internal threads for the top cap, wow..

So what cranks can I upgrade to? I have a Excaliber one piece and always fancied three peice, but weight is important seeing have shed 12 pounds of it, and what do I need?

i would definitely go for a 3 piece set up if youre going to be riding it and giving it some stick. Knock out the bearing cups and go for some sealed bearings to suit your bb and then compare the weight of the available 3 piece cranks within your budget.

Prob gonna allow myself 100 quid all in.

Don't forget you'll need new pedals too.
£100 budget should get you something decent, second hand with a sealed BB, maybe Primo hollowbites, profiles or twin pinch redline flites.
The other day, either Winstanly's or chain reaction had Blank cromo 3pc cranks, with mid BB for £20 posted, (reduced from mid £50's) you'll need a US BB, but you can sell the mid to offset the cost., colours were limited, but i've had some and they are ok quality.

£20 is a bargain! I would see if theyve still got the offer on!

Are these cranks light?

it looks as though they weigh around 1kg ish,not too bad really for the price...especially if you can get them for 20 quid!
