Title: 1 INCH HOLMES RESTORED AND FINISHED
Post by: dordymush on October 04, 2012, 05:59 PM
bought this a few weeks back after kaner put me intouch with his mate near barr beacon (thanks ben  :daumenhoch:)
anyway she was a bit rough round the edges as can been seen in the pics but all solid and complete with mini burner seat  :crazy2:
stripped it down as i wanted it a different colour from black.so out came the sand paper and rattle cans and got stuck in.
anyway here it is.not the best pics off the iphone so will get some better when the sun comes out as the yella proper blinds ya  8).

before as i got it.

Bike looks mint compared to when you got it.   8)

The GT stem would look nice with the GT emblem exposed to fit in with the yellow/siver/black theme.  I normally use a bit of electricians tape to mask the stem then hit the raised GT section with some wet and dry.   :daumenhoch:

i was gonna leave it as it was and ride it as i like survivor old school bikes.
but i got a new gen dirt bike that i built as a rider/cruise bike.
if it had been in a bit better shape i'd have left it as was.but seeing as its sat in the front room her in doors would have gone on about it  :-[.
gonna have a go at the gt stem now like you said  :daumenhoch:

thats lovely fella great job on the refurb, what colour yellow did you use from a can, was it ford signal yellow?
Title: Re: 1 INCH HOLMES RESTORED AND FINISHED
Post by: dordymush on October 12, 2012, 09:44 PM
don if it had been a bit better i would have left it a survivor finish mate.
it was rough though when you got into it.
i got a black challenger and a black dirtbike so just fancied something a bit brighter.

it was them little cans of enamel paint jaymz from B&Q.
leaves a nice finish without messing with laquer.
can remember the colour name though.the ford colour is about the same though  :daumenhoch:
