went to fit my pitbull to my challenger today and i cant mount it on the chainstays as the chain will more than likely rub on the brake at some point
so other option is to mount in the usual place but because its a challenger it dosent have the normal brake bridge instead its a tube thats almost top tube size and once you fit the pitbull with all the correct washers and cable hanger etc... there is not enough bolt to put the correct washer and nut on (need to use these as these tubes are prone to crushing)
just been to a local nut and bolt place who usually are very helpful but no luck in finding one the same but longer
other option is to find one on ebay and grind the sides so it fits the brake but they all have the square on the back which would make the bolt stick out/not fit properly
here's the oddy bolt

and heres one off of ebay, see that the ebay one would need the sides filed down (not a prob) but the back also has a square (could grind this aswell i suppose)

or do you have another way/know of a bolt that would fit?
i know if i lost the cable hanger and replaced it with a pozi stop seat clamp the brake would fit but i dont want a pozi stop seat clamp :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

This problem can be solved simply by posting said brake and frame and fork to me , now I am a reasonable guy and will offer to pay half of the postage .
Can't say fairer than that. :yahoo_silent:

Kev i used smaller curved washers from a front brake caliper when it had a pitbull on, it fit.... Just!
The boa i've had on it was a front so fitted no probs, diggler and gish both have pitbull brakes on their bikes so it will fit :daumenhoch:
I couldn't get a pozi stop to work proper, found it a right ball ache to set up
-
all sorted now, found a long flush flat headed screw driver bolt and have used that :daumenhoch:

Kev I have a pitbull ll fitted on my challenger but the bolts are the same size.
What I have done is used a thin washer & curved washer off another brake caliper to use inbetween the frame and brake stalk and then used washer & nylon nut to tighten the caliper up to the frame :daumenhoch:

Took a pic of the pitbull with the washers i used

I went with the seatstay mount on mine and luckily the hardware store had a long flat topped bolt that was long enough.
Looks way cleaner on the seatstay portion to me.

looking good :daumenhoch:
i wanted mine on the chainstays so you could see the seatstay brake mount tube as i like the design of it, shame the chain would have hit the brake if i mounted it on the chainstay
