Title: Two stolen Burners UPDATED - FOUND SAFE AND SOUND
Post by: MJC on October 29, 2012, 09:47 AM
I had two Mk 1 Burners nicked from the shed last night.

1 Black and gold Ultra (inc original 2.125 Cheng Shin Snakebelly).

2) Red and yellow standard bike.

Long shot, but if anyone is offered anything similar in or around the Stockport area please let me know.

Thanks.

that's a F'ing shame mate  :tickedoff: :2gunsfiring_v1:

any pic's - serial numbers - marks that show it's yours - different parts that set it apart ?

you all need to write down the serial numbers

i think with more and more people hearing and thinking that BMX's are worth big money - then they will see them and take them  :2gunsfiring_v1:

Back home.

Very strange day indeed. On my way back from the nick I stopped a PCSO and (assuming he would know the local shitbags) asked him if he knew of any likely places to look.

He jumped in my car and said, "you're not gonna believe this."

Earlier, he'd been called out to a report of some lads acting suspiciously with bikes but on arriving, all he'd found were two bikes chained securely to a fence.

My Burners.

Cue the Sweeney, and a short observation, but the shitbags never turned up.

Like I said, strange day.

GMP were great.

Quick update.

The thieving shits that took them were opportunist.

I have a 205 GTI kept at the side of the house with no battery, they opened the door (it was unlocked) but there was nothing for them there.

They then wandered down the side of the house and opened the door into a former coal bunker, nothing there except a gas boiler, a set of step ladders and a hosepipe.

The shed is at the far end of the garden. They opened it and took the two bikes, cleverly chucking a Tuff II aside and leaving it on the lawn and also leaving a Puch Minisprint behind.

The bikes were taken away across the lawn and chained to a railing behind an empty industrial unit a good half mile away, close to a railway line. There has been a spate of bike thefts lately so who knows, maybe this is a storage place for them, most people don't even know the place exists.

The SOC officer (who was gorgeous BTW) spent well over an hour printing and photographing last night. She found two sets of clear usable footprints but they were wearing gloves.

Everything is now securely stored elsewhere.

Thanks for the kind comments and I'm sorry if it seemed a bit disjointed yesterday - it was all quite fast-moving.

I'd put money on this being the work of schoolkids with it being half term and all.  Most young tea-leaves start off screwing peoples sheds etc. before moving on to naughtier stuff.   :police:
