Two years ago i put the robinson together and it won bike of the month nov 2010,the all chrome colour scheme was just an experiment really as i wanted to build the blingiest bike i possibly could, it was always my intention to eventually change things around :coolsmiley:
i started looking through the old magazines and scouring the internet for pictures of robinsons,i realised alot of them were decked out in a red, white and blue combination so i decided to go down that route which is hard to pull off without it looking like a clown bike!!!!
i decided on going for a slightly older look this time around after getting inspiration from the likes of stidds, kungfunky and king of the robbos Carlos!!in came a set of vinyl popper pads,a dc double bend lever and after a two and a half year search a set of hard to find robinson pro bars, the experts were just too small for my taste, anyway here she is,hope you like, its a tough order making a botm winner look better!! :daumenhoch:

Cheers Mark. Have to be white then !
Got one off here a few weeks ago, it's had a re-chrome but its a poor job so gonna be stripped and powdered. "One day" !

with the red pads on it Ian the blue becomes pointless,it kills it competely, the white breaks up the red, and the blue writing on the pads brings out the blue components, plus carl owns the red pads now :2funny:
-
Looks mint that mate ... :daumenhoch:
If you want the red pads back let me know I found an Original set :smitten:
Ill take your white pads ^"^

-
Looks nice either way Mark :daumenhoch:
My 81 is Black/Chrome as that was how Alan's Dad built this one
I only ever remember the R Robbo in Chrome bitd I never saw a coloured frame set, they do look good in White and the RSR in Red works.
-
look nice before but the robbos have got to be red and blue and chrome :4_17_5: :smitten: :daumenhoch:
-
love it both ways but think i like it best before parcy.... :-\
i personaly would like it with red large minge hubs, and red ring-piece.... :daumenhoch:
-
some nice changes there Mark, looks spot on :daumenhoch:
-
Always love you're builds Mark ,and I like both versions :smitten:, maybe slight preference to the first ,the understated colours less is more , I suppose :smitten:

Love'em both Mark :daumenhoch:
First one has a real classy look about it 8) second one is probably more how we had/built them bitd, ie bit more colour etc 8)
PS Love the pro bars :smitten:
-
thanks guys, the rebuild wasnt about building a super clean show pony but more about putting together a robbo that you would have been more likely to have seen bitd, hence the mish mash of red white and blue.i think it looks like it came straight off the track now :daumenhoch:
-
Very nice Mark :coolsmiley:
Both look sweet but must admit I do prefer it with a bit more colour :daumenhoch:
Not sure about the dice caps even though I had them on my ride bitd ::)
