Most / all 80s and early 90s hubs were shit. No question!
And when stuff got heavy in the later 90s it didnt always make it any good.
If you are busting hubs or chains, then you are using the wrong ones (or fitting them badly).
There are heavy/strong NS parts available if you want/need them.

Dude, I feel for you if you cant afford the top end, for sure, but having to use lower end stuff aint the same as saying "these NS hubs are crap". :-\
And even low/mid range BMX stuff is pretty good these days.

the chains and hubs are what ever came on the bikes ie the haro forum i got a few years ago, landed a medium ish drop and the cog just shattered into pieces ;D, i cant justify spending profile money on hubs these days what with kids a wife and own business and tbh newschool aint really my thing mid school is and i still have my original g sport hubs on alex supra rims as well as my haro rims n hubs off a old blammo that never go wrong, gets me grief of the tight trouser gang for riding a big fat old s&m that weighs what all there bikes do :LolLolLolLol:

Maybe I dont ride as hard as I used to but Ive used a few different cassette hubs and they've (the axle and the driver) have all been totally fine. And I LOVE riding with a small driver/chainring and with female axle wheelnuts. SOOO nice!

man, that bike looks AMAZING! ;)
it's a case of 'buy cheap, buy twice' with some of these ns hubs for sure.
i've had my profile hub for over 10 years, and all its needed has been 2 new drivers, 2 new axles, some new bearings and a new shell. :LolLolLolLol: trigger's brush springs to mind.
