Been thinking a lot about it lately, ist fun to collect but no time to ride, build, lack of interest
am i the only one just beeing nuts ?
-
all the time :-\
-
I did.
-
yep :-\
-
me too, but then think 'NOW WHAT'.... :-\
i'll always keep a couple...
well maybe!
-
Sold it all, just kept one os bike for racing and my new school for the park, it's all i need :daumenhoch:
-
Jesus Christ, thats enough now!
Put the blades away & empty the bath!
-
I'll be splitting and selling up soon. First up is my Freeagent Limo. I just need to sober up to break it down and take pics of it. :'( The love isn't there any more if i'm honest. I have a Profile champ Pro and a Rickman Pro to play with but they're ages away and i haven't done anything with them since MK.
-
take two weeks off and don't look at any thing BMX - chance's are you will come back to them >:D
-
constantly :-\
then i want to buy
-
Yes, most days......
Sold most of my stuff about 4 years ago :(
-
Like anything you can lose the enthusiasm. If you sell everything i think you may regret it somewhere down the line....Maybe just keep one bike so you still have something.
-
Well its been going on my mind for weeks now
i also stopped racing cause i had to many injury's: and cant afford to stay home sick from work.
as most of us do i think
building os bikes takes a lot if time ( wich i dont have ) and takes loads of space wich i dont really have , i cant even acces my shed cause its stuffed with bikes, gear and parts.
And i cant even ride them cause i am just to fraking tall ( 1.98 )
hard call to be made :'(

if and i say if i sell it all , i will be keeping my e.t elliot replica
-
Well in that case... Patty please Danny
-
Currently buying more than selling".....
-
Danny just sell the lot and keep a couple of riders
If you don't get any enjoyment out of em get rid :daumenhoch:
-
Think we all go through phases like why am I doing this :-\
Got grand kids now , so not as much time or money now :LolLolLolLol:
I sold lots off my gear bout 6mths ago . But then got the bug back :D
Strange thing old school bmx
Even if I quit totally , ill always keep my one old school bmx ;)
-
iv'e sold everything old school a couple of times.
always end up coming back to the hobby.
still got 3 completes i'd not sell.well 2 of em anyway (patterson pr200s and my lazerlite) gt pro might go at some point to spend on my vw van.
i must admit though there's a few bikes i had that i wished I'd not sold now :-\
-
Yep thinking about it myself ???
-
Sold 3 recently, cos I neede cash for building work, didn't break my heart to lose them so I obviously didn't need them.
Only building stuff I really want now, not just because it comes up at the right price and I think I need it.
-
Yep, sold it all but then one came up that I just had to have.
It's like it's in your blood.
-
Thinking about it myself :-\
Just keep one o/s and one n/s bike
-
No way :)
-

Same here Brummie the money tied up in it doesn't come into it ,, I love my bikes for the look and ownership , not how much I'd get back if I sold tommorrow
If all of a sudden it was worthless , great :4_17_5: then you would never need to sell it if an absolute emergency came along :daumenhoch:
Keeping these Ols bikes is totally justified in my eyes because I would have only spent the same amount on a 2nd motor/toy
with, Petrol , Tax , Insurance , maintenance , customising and upgrading , and then to top it the cost/deprediation of the vehicle can be majorly variable.
Show pony BMX's are cheaper,,, once you've bought it ,, it doesn't cost you another penny ::) :smitten:
-
i cant help myself sometimes thinking what else i could do with the few quid other than it sitting in the corner gathering dust , sitting in the loft or getting in the missus's way :crazy2:.
they do my head in once built up.
-
What it really is Dave you've got too many different toys
Beetle
BMX
Mini Tractor
Vintage trucks
FFS spoilt bugger :yahoo_silent:
;)
-
lol that why i keep lookin at the fookin things and seeing money signs. im skint ;D
-
Nope never crossed my mind in the 15 or so years I've been collecting. I've probably sold 5 bikes and a hand full of parts during that time and as some know, getting goodies out of me is not exactly what you call easy ;D
-
Sold the lot a few years ago then after a while started to collect again. I soon realized prices had gone up and couldnt afford my old bikes back so wish I hadn't got rid but now I've got to have a clear out because of space, time and money but struggle to let anything go :idiot2:
-

Aint this more reason to keep em? :daumenhoch:
-
Sold up years ago, I would love to build another but I can't justify the crazy prices you lot pay these days
-
There will come a time when all the Old school stuff becomes REALLY RARE and will be worth money.......there will be collectors who buy the stuff for investments i won't be long before O/S gear will be antique!...you lads are already collector's after all.
-
I stopped collecting a few years back, sold my TA :'( and a few others and wish I had not. I have a NOS Chrome hot heart that I wont let go as I love it to bits, got most of the stuff for it that's put on finger tight just a few bits to go when I get time and the spare cash. I also have a Hutch pro star with non drilled forks with some nice bits on that as I thought I would not be able to afford to build one again, Its gathering dust at the moment on the wall and I am tempted to sell her to get the parts needed to finish the HH. just not sure the best way to do it, split it or made up. I do love it, as it was one of the bikes to have BITD but it has not got the appeal that the Hot Heart has got, I think the HH reminds me of one particular summer.
-
I think I only have 1 bike that I would sell now, all the rest will be staying. Unless I get really skint then I will sell the Cook Bros ;)
-
no as stuff i have here is part of my bmx history . might have flogged the old bit but these days i don`t flog anything as always regret it
-
The winter months are always the worst , been thinning out the stuff here but purely down to the fact I'll never get the time to restore/build them all .
-
Started with all the parts i had laying around
maybe i get some space now
-

Your tight Lytham cant... Your fkin loaded
-
Yep, sold MST of mine this year to pay for a decent holiday and don't miss them except for my 78 Team Mongoose and I know where that is and have first dib dobs if it ever comes up for sale.
Just got my MRD Badlander now and my 20" and 22" newschool ramp bikes. Oh, and my Ammaco 202 with some cheap bits on it just holding it together as it was the bike that got me back into BMX 13yrs ago.
Oh, and a box that arrived from Texas is waiting for me at Ashley's..... Just need to get that one built up over winter.... Just when I thought i'd given up.... ;-)
-
yes next year i will be selling the frickin lot the love has gone :'(
-
I think about it but as I only collect 1 brand ::) It takes me years 2 source them so can never bring myself 2 part with them :2funny: Hunted and found another recently :uglystupid2: Don't even need it its just the thrill of the chase :crazy2: If I sold up have no idea what I would do with the money :LolLolLolLol: I just love admiring them and planning new builds ;D
-
Anyone selling a Gussett Robinson Pro, stop thinking and hurry up pm me !
-
Ive been thinking about selling up most of what ive got , would never sell all of them but i know i dont wana build any more . Just got 2 to finnish then sit back and think whats first for the cull. :LolLolLolLol: I just cant decide what to let go as ive collected bikes that i personally remember and like from bitd. Its not that ive lost the love for bmx its just 20 or so bikes just seams a silly amount to keep , even thow i know thats not really a big collection .
-
sell it all Lenny and buy a boss hog doll :LolLolLolLol:
-
sell it all Lenny and buy a boss hog doll :LolLolLolLol:
Boss Hog Doll ? whats one of them
-
its the doll that kap models him self on Boss Hog from hazzard county :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
-
In the past I sold loads of stuff and really regret it now, takes too long to get a bike together or that specific part so the thought of selling everything after all that effort is nuts... i'm adding to my collection all the time so have no intentions now or the in the future of selling it all.
-
Sold a lot recently, and still some to come as I'm thinking of emigrating. A few things will stay but most will be out the door if it happens
-
Emigrating from Leeds to Barnsley?
Dont do it mate!!!!!!!
-
sooner you all sell up the better.
prices will crash and i can buy it all up.
and then sell it back to you for more.
-
Emigrating from Leeds to Barnsley?

I think most members join,, do the ones they remember most , don't do any other builds get bored and sell up all within 2 or 3 years ::) :-\
You've got to keep doing just one more build or you will lose interest ,for me they don't necessarily need to be impressive or expensive ,I just love the chase of the parts and the ressurection ,bringing a once loved bike back to life :smitten:
Again all those who've sold and made a big profit in years past , realise they have to pay the same and more ,to re source items they once had . :-\
I know that if I sell any of my bikes , I will never get them back or redo the same bike again , so I'd have to be 100% sure
-
didnt you nearly do that once? ::)
-
sold just about all me old school stuff.keeping the lazerlite for ever though, just buying mid
school stuff these days.
-

I did that but I stay on rad cos its the UK's premier Zombie forum :4_17_5: :D
-
:LolLolLolLol:
Oooo yes Sam 2008 I sold 4 bikes in a month :D and kept only 2 as keepers :-\ ( two thirds of my bikes at that time gone :LolLolLolLol: )
Slimmed down ;) but was never going to sell up
Those were the days Sammy when having around 5 bikes was a normal sized collection , not 20 odd :-\
From then on it went steadilly increasingly silly :)
-
I keep thinking about it , but just can't do it ... I've given up and still keep buying FFs ...
I've got the best Robinson collection in the world , to split one wouldn't be fair on the others .. they'd miss it .. :LolLolLolLol:
-

Mat when's the big RAD get together ,to have one of those Late night city centre ,Zombie runabout hide n seek jobbies ? :)
and
Carl don't do it , don't ever do it , because it won't be done again ( no one is as mad as you ) and you owe it to Chuck to keep the Robinson museum complete  8) 8) 8)
-
I walk in my workshop and look at the stuff just sat there and i think if i had the time i would sell all this lot . Been collecting stuff for over 6 years now and don't even know what i have got , i know theres 25 plus bikes in there as i fall over them often enough ;D . Think its time to make time and get a serios culling on the go as i don't need 99% of it .
They do look nice though .
-
Yeah have the Thought all the Time Sold 15 Bikes Last Year and Bought the Wife a New Motor ..... Only to Start all Over Again ......... Then Sold a Few More ......... Now Have Only 2 Bikes and a Few Choice F&F and sought after Parts ..............
-
I might.
-
Think about it quite regular but soon change my mind when have a little peek at my collection.
If I was to thin out the collection, there would be two bikes which I wouldn't get rid of, the pre stamp GT Performer and the Skyway TA.
-
Guys, you can't get rid, keep them for your kids and grandchildren. That's my plan.
