I know there are a million and one threads about chroming companies but I have always championed Allen Chrome in Pocklington. We all have our favourites, some mainly because they are the closest. Guys, don't forgo quality over convenience, it really is worth the effort. I work out of Anglesey, North Wales but ALWAYS use Allen Chrome. And this is why.
These were shite state, used frame standers.

These had to be stripped from what was a very poor painted state. They have been dipped then hand polished. They are amazing in real life.
BUT they came out at £20 + VAT EACH. So £96 for the 4.
I had a set of 24" forks stripped and re-plated for £45 a while ago.
I cannot recommend them enough, the turn around is reasonable too.
Ask Kappy about their work :daumenhoch:

v nice, great to see a firm that takes pride in their work , few and far between these days , you don't mind stumping up a bit more cash for a quality job :daumenhoch:
just a small suggestion though if you don't mind? if you post any other pics of examples up can you give em a wipe over , those fingerprints on the standers will drive Griff bonkers :LolLolLolLol:

Cheeky cnut
My BMX OCD is mostly set off by frames photographed standing on rough concrete etc, also valve caps not aligned to tyre labels
Until you mentioned the fingerprints I hadn't even noticed :yahoo_silent:
The other things that set me off are vinyl records out of their covers or people handling them on the playing area with their greasy, jammy fingers
I won't mention the speeling and grammer stuff again
Except to say it's 'en route' not 'en route' FFS

And the dribble n' jizz...!! ;D

Fook me they are expensive though, they quoted me £370 for a frame and forks in Nickel, had it done at my usual chromers (Doug Taylors) for £170.
Don't care how good they can be, £200 extra is massive. Plus in no way are they any better than Doug.

They charge about £160 for chroming of frame & forks.
Had a few bits done by them, turned out great but turn around time is slow

I have just sent a california frame and forks to allens, he said about £350 and 15 weeks
give me chance to save up :LolLolLolLol:
with the cost of the frameset and getting stitched with import duty its gonna be the most expensive on the planet..!!!!
Will post pics when it comes back.. covered in my JIZ.. :2funny:

Then again though fella, you're only in it for the flipping, so that would prolly cost ya more than you could flog it for.
Glad to see you made less than you bought them Tuffs for that you tried to pass off as 80's Tuffs on the old 'Bay.
I use Allen chrome 'cos they chromed a coffee table me dad welded up back in 1982, and the buggers still not rusted up (and the chroming covered up me dads poopy welds) . Quality chroming :daumenhoch:
