Sorry for basic rough pics will have good look at it tonight.
Thanks to olly and kev s for info top boys :daumenhoch:
-
they dont look like PA cranks, the arms look ovalised and also the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen cranks did have ovalised tubes they were peiced at both ends and only the 1st gen cranks were pierced at one end, hence the name. 1st gen PA cranks had almost round tubes
-
didn't odyssey make something like these ?.
cool find thought.
-
These are the only rubbish pics i have ,i sent olly the original shite one I had so hard to see.
Ill strip em down tonight get better pics... of the crank set
hence why i put prince albert cranks? ;)
-
yeah odyssey 41thermal cranks, were pierced at both ends though
could be fabweld? mosh?
-
Boss? TNT? Supercross? I think they all did similar looking cranks, I'm probably wrong, I should just go....
Solid?
-
They look like fusion cranks the 1's that came on the 89/90 team models?

Stripped em off few more pics sorry only iphone at the mo
Maybe there just random copie things?
-
going by those pics they deffo not mk1 p.a's as the axle is a 48 spline one and i think the forks are the normal khe ones not standard forks
the pics olly sent me from his pooty iphone were quite small and made them look like mk1 p.a's
have a look here http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=121273.0 at the last red khe beater and the forks are exactly the same
-
Red one has the same cranks to?
-
the pedal end of the arms on that red one are more angled/pointed
-
I know KHE had some second gen cranks out similar to that (after the one's with the single pinch bolt), also Mutation had some that were similar - will try and find some pics.
Have you got a front-on pic of the forks? Be def able to tell if they're Standard or KHE then, like I told Olly :daumenhoch:
-
pics of forks i stripped it down today no markings i can see

Only paid £20 for the whole bike so not bothered what any parts are really :daumenhoch: :LolLolLolLol:
-
Nice for £20 :daumenhoch:
Looking at them forks, I'd say they are Standards - the shape of the legs going into the steerer is identical to Standards. Also I think the KHE forks peg bosses were on the ends of the fork legs, not piercing the legs. The only thing that would put me off would be that they've got a cable guide, but as Standard did customs etc you never know....
-
+ if matt was to sell said parts there a good stand in for people who couldn't afford £170+ for cranks :daumenhoch:
-
Didnt Heavy Tools make a set fo forks like that?
-
I'd say 100% there standards!
-
Didnt Heavy Tools make a set fo forks like that?
Yeah, as did Static - the dropout design was quite well copied mid 90's. I *think* though their peg bosses were all at the ends of the fork legs. The KHE's I've had (and the similar early Gussets) all had leg-end peg bosses. I'll have a look through some of me Invert/Rides tomoz as I'm 'working from home' and get bored quickly ;)
-
When stripping down the headset was a tioga bear trap ,im guessing that wasnt standard fit to the bike?
So maybe the forks are not standard as in khe standard if you know what mean. :LolLolLolLol:
-
i reckon they are khe forks, in the link i posted earlier in the thread the first 2 bikes have the fork with the peg bosses right on the end of the fork leg like danny describes
the 3rd (red) bike's forks have the peg bosses slightly up from the bottom of the forks just like matt's ones, maybe they are a early design before they moved the peg bosses down slightly just as s&m did with the ditchfork :daumenhoch:
-
Khe forks where thred less 1" clamp on, plus had ad mounts they prob wouldn't of come with a brake plate either there defo not khe, and if there not standard then there copies as there dam close to me the drop outs are identical :daumenhoch:

i still think they could possibly be khe/heavy tools forks as they did like to copy standard's designs and they are on a khe complete
maybe best to ask ygt as he worked with khe in the early 90's so could verify if they did copy standard's 1in forks :daumenhoch:

In regards to the forks, I think they are standards too.
KHE produced the beater for something like 12 odd years, and parts that were used to build the bikes varied depending what they had in stock a lot of the time.
I do remember a 1" fork with peg mounts (may even still have one) but they didnt have those signature standard dropouts on.
And think they had 14mm axle cutouts.
-
I don't think the steerer tube was so nicely machined on KHE forks. I would say these are definitely Standard forks.
-
cool so they are standard forks :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:
-
Don't you trust my judgment Kevin? :LolLolLolLol:
-
not that i dont trust your judgement just its always best to double check :daumenhoch:
you missed a good session yesterday with me, shane, drainer and mart
