Title: Brian Curtis freestyler / pro reproductions orders
Post by: Gizmo on November 25, 2012, 09:23 PM
Ok guys , starting a new thread to gauge interest & numbers on this limited number f&f
These frame / forks will be done over 2 years , have a certificate signed by Brian himself with number of frame on it
Obviously frame #1 will be most sought after , Brian was thinking of a raffle of some kind
Maybe lottery numbers for instance ??? So can't be fixed .
Frames can be collected in person from bc if you want . Ba11  ( 12 miles from bath )
I'm gona see if I can get Brian to come along to mk13 this year too  8)
Know of several members who deffo want one .
This is a reserve thread for reservation of frames , no deposits till production is 100%
Ready to roll , example numbers interested

Nice to see who wants what ?
Here's the thread how it started
Please read  http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=151909.0

Thanks mark :)

think it will be about ten of each  ;) could be more ?????
He has a full time job teaching braising , this will be solely his project :)

Hi

He's possibly doing a run of the Freestyler but it's all based on interest.

Cheers

Rich

When i spoke with him, he said he would be offering Freestyler, Pro and Cruiser, as once a jig is made its relatively simple to adjust it for the different sizes.
Plus the Freestyler is just a Pro frame with a little extra plumbing.
But as Mark has said, this will depend on genuine interest and probably deposits to cover material and set up costs. Rather than just doing a run of frames and then marketing them.

its gonna be a Freestyler for me and maybe a Cruiser too, if my wallet allow's. As this opportunity is not likely to come up again.

I would say there would be enough interest with members on here, without the need for too much marketing. Especially if he is only going to be doing very limited frame runs. They'l be pretty much sold before it has chance to heard anywhere else.

For sure  :daumenhoch:

But its Brian that we need to convince. Even though He's pretty much retired. He's very busy running the Bicycle Academy, teaching people to build frames for charity
http://www.thebicycleacademy.org/ The waiting list for this course is over a year long, so the Curtis repro's would be manufactured in his own time in his workshop at home. Hence why it will possibly be over 2 years work. Quite a lot to take on for anybody, yet alone if you're supposed to be retired and slowing down.

Yeah I can certainly appreciate that one.....

Has he still got the old jigs or will he have to remake these as well?

Yeh, jigs will have to be re-made, pretty sure he has original drawings and dimensions plus f&f set for reference and he does have quite a lot of the original tubing and dropouts etc.

Spoke recently , & there are several interested.
but with the build up to christmas & after
money is tight for everyone , that will reflect things ,
i want  a f&f but will have to sell one of my rides ,
To get one , which i dont mind tbh

marketing as spoken before , imm sure this would
Would be easier if it was advertised in other areas too,
but this is the only place you can purchase at the moment

Again if interested ring him :)
