Guys, got myself the lovely Standard lengthy on eBay last week, and as I'm way out of my era knowledge wise, can anyone recommend the right parts to finish her? 1994 f&f with bars, but I need ideas of around this time that aren't too expensive (will be ridden). I'm thinking pere hp48's but as for cranks, tyres, seat, neck etc.....??
Cheers

dk or tnt stem perhaps, primo super tenderizer pedals, big heavy steel pegs, v monster tyres, profile cranks, primo hemorrhoid seat, acs boa on the front 990 on the rear tech 77 levers and peregrine rims with gsport hubs. thats pretty much how i had mine built except i had redline 401 cranks before changing to profiles.

Cheers guys, that gives me food for thought. Got some V Monsters already, some tech 77's and gyro etc.
Big ones for me are the wheels and crank. Better get searching.....
Lovely build btw mate :smitten:

Doesn't get much better than Danny's :)
Profile stamped Profiles were out in '94 so you don't necessarily have to go for GT stamped ones. Super Pros would be ideal, but will be pricey...have a look in the years/parts thread fella to get an idea:

Well, I still need to pop up and see you Dan and give you that Standard hoody, if Wini needs owt I could always pick up and send them off for him :)

Cheers err, Dannys!
Great link, thanks dannywhac :daumenhoch:
And that sounds like a great idea Dan, but when I'd ever get to Suffolk is anyone's idea. I need to make up an excuse, unless you're coming to TRM1 at Xmas?

Got some silver powdered primo tenderizers here Mark, Ideal for a rider.
I'll chuck `em in the boot with that NS seat for your perusal tomorrow. (I assume you won't be `emigrated' by then!)

Pretty sure Primo wasn't about in 94? Or at least tenderiser pedals and hemroid seats weren't. I think those came out around 96. As far as cranks go redline single pich (non wrap), gt profiles, regular profiles will all do the trick. As far as pedals shimano, fusion, or GT DX style pedals were all around then, as were peregrines. For wheels peregrine are what most people seem to go for, and prices on them seem to be dropping off as well. You regularly see sets go for under £150 now yet a year ago tatty sets were fetching £200+. Keep an eye out and I'm sure you will get a set for not much money.

i would have prefered araya super 7x and g sport hubs, but they were later so i would say ...hp 48 pros, v monsters, tnt freestyle stem or s&m redneck quill, dk drop nose seat or Gt, peregrine pedals, profile cranks, profile SS flywheel sprocket or peregrine cd, izumi chain, shimano freewheel, tech 77 with buttons, standard U brake plate and ad990s front and rear, triple bolt seat clamp, standard seat post and odysset robo clamp, or dk goal post or primo rod. ;)
-
Super 7X's and first gen G-Sport Fat Shafts came out in '94 so they'd be good to go - the Profile SS sprocket didn't come out till '98 :)

Thanks lads, a good few options to go at there :daumenhoch:
