Title: Going rate for an 83/84 Supergoose?
Post by: midschooljon on December 01, 2012, 09:21 PM
Im mostly into mid school stuff so am very out of touch with old school pricing. To cut a long story short the first BMX i ever had was an 84 Supergoose, and Id like to build another one for sentimental reasons. Not sure if any of you can give me some indication as to what they fetch these days? Im not looking for a show pony, just a tidy example I could slowly build back to original spec. Would I be dreaming if I thought I could do it for around £400? Like I said, I have no idea what they fetch these days.

Probably be best to try and find a complete.  :-\ Even to buy nice used parts the build will go over £400. Not sure what a Supergoose F&F would be, but if a Californian is about £150, I'd say around £150 - £250, then wheels would be about £100. Then if you want Mongoose stamped Headset, Bottom Bracket and Crank it would start to add up. If your happy to take your time, collect some parts up over the winter and then see where you are.  :daumenhoch:

£400 could be a bit ambitious.I would double it at least depending how carried away you want to get :daumenhoch:

Yes I think you are right. After doing a bit of homework I think £600-£700 would build me something to the standard Im after. Thanks for the feedback.  :daumenhoch:
