Post by: Retro Rider on December 09, 2012, 09:47 PM
So guys and gals.
Who's got the earliest mongoose motomag over on our side of the pond??
I'm seriously falling in love with these early heavy weights!!

A pal of mine has an early 76 complete. Not sure what year Bobafett has though, my guess is he could have a 75.

Nice to see more folk taking an interest in the vintage bikes.  :daumenhoch:

the 76 has Motomag 1's, Ashtabula stamped crank, fork and stem, Webco box bars, Cheng shin tyres, Goose seat clamp and grips.

Ok, 'hypothetically' speaking.
If a '76 motomag was available and wasn't fitted with the correct motomag 1 simi mags.
What would you guys like to see on the bike.
Even if it was just a 'in fill' until the right factory rims became available.

I was told a while back from a goose collector that the model called motomag is one fitted with motomag wheels. If it came with rims it is just a plain mongoose.

But to your question I'd have femco wheel set with coaster brake. But i do love motomag wheels
