Hi Guys
I have managed to find a great Torker survivor but am struggling to identify if its a Pro X or not but it so so like one in every way.
I have been trawling both our great forum and the Museum but cant find the any info on the last digit to confirm if this is a Pro X.
The Frame SN is stamped on the rear drop outs and nothing on the BB and is TII 0341 X
I think I have confirmed that the "TII" could relate to "Feb. 1984" acording to http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=107504.0;wap2 (http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=107504.0;wap2) but I cant find a reference to the "X"
- It has the Haro style gusset,
- larger than normal down tube
- Both the Head tube and BB are machined with flanges best way I cab describe them
- The top tubes measure 19.5"
- Rear drop outs have the Pro X style stiffening bends in them
- Lower rear tubes have a gusset with a hole in it.
- The frame came with MX 900 brakes and dated 1983.
Its in Chrome and in awesome condition :daumenhoch:

haro type gusset? pics please
-
Thanks Guys.
Will get picks up in next hour.
?I should have really said the gusset is exactly the same as a Pro X.
Pics up ASAP.

Defo need pix .
-
T II ... is that not a Torker 2 ? 150x perhaps :-\
-
Pics added to the original posting.
Fingers crossed :P
-
Obviously not a 2 then.
-
T II is definitely Feb 1984 and the only 2 'full sized' race bikes Torker produced in 1984 was the 280x and the Magnum. The 280x didn't have a gusset and the Magnum did.
Therefore with the addition of the x in the serial number I think you can say it is a Feb 1984 Torker 280x.

Phew.
I actually have a Torker II High Intensity and love it massively, however this bmx building thing is addictive and I wanted to add USA made build.

I would tend to agree but have not found a 280X with the engineered head tube and BB as well as the flared drop outs or what ever they are called and hence my confusion.
I have looked at all the 280X on the Museum and none I have seen look exactly like this :-(
-
Not the bestest picture ever but you can see the engineered bottom bracket and flared drop outs (just) on this picture...
So Pro x or 280 x or something fooking stupid :LolLolLolLol:

The 280x had an oval style front gusset. Looks like a Pro X to me.

Thanks pal, Looks exactly the same to me in every way, hence thinking along the Pro X line, wonder if this is a long lost production run or SN code.
I had a pro X as a kid and was well into it, I cant see any difference at all.
Typical me though, nothing is ever simples
I had to laugh though as someone has hot glued the end of the frame where they meet the rear drop outs, why oh why? easy to remove however ;-)

Thanks for that and been on there earlier while trying to work it out.
On that page there is no mention of of a frame with the specifics mine has and the single "X" suffix.
-
Well I think the group census is that its a Pro X
I am so made up and Christmas has come early to me, all it needs is a dust down and quick chrome polish, awesome.
Thanks fella's

Even better in chrome.... :daumenhoch:

Nelly has one just like this with no actual letters in the dropout serial numbers albeit there's an 84 in there and his measures 18.5" centre of seat tube to centre of headtube and it has the Gussett were lost as to what it is :idiot2:'s
