ok, got one of these sitting here gathering dust and am thinking about lacing it into a rim to use.
small problem with the gearing though. its got a one piece, 14 tooth driver fitted.
I'd prefer an 11t or 12t driver in there instead.
are other drivers available for this hub and, if so, does anyone know where i'd get one?
cheers folks,
Bp.

Mine came with a 10 tooth diver fitted, and it is not interchangable with any other drivers :(
I tried to get a bigger one as running 28/10 was not possible on my T1 barcode as the chain would have fouled the brake stays but was told that it only came with the 10 tooth driver.
Are you sure that yours is a freecoaster, or just an Odyssey hazard cassette hub ???
-
yeah,
a the ody freecoaster comes with a 10t but thats it, no switching. if you have a hazard CASSETTE hub then you could switch it out. you can get cassette drivers on any bmx mailorder. NOTE: is the hub a big fat barrel lookin hub or does it taper in the center. if its a barrell lookin one its the older style and wont fit a new style driver.
-
lol, it's definitely a hazard freecoaster, the big fat one, and not the old fat cassette hub. I'm currently running the newer tapered cassette hub myself with a one piece 11t driver, so I know the one you mean tho, tony. And yeah, the freecoaster looks very like the old cassette hub.
bill, sounds like urs is their "reloader" freecoaster hub.
this is the hub i have (it's the old freecoaster, the one before the current "reloader" and it weighs about the same as a big sack of spuds):

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Was speaking to my dad at a BBQ on sunday night and mentioned this driver issue and asked if he fancied having a go at popping out the central bearing, cutting off the existing 14t sprocket bit, and then welding on a 12t Kore coaster sprocket I had sitting here.
So I got home this evening and this was sitting in a flowerpot at the front door...

The driver has even got 3 "register" grooves machined into it now to set the sprocket before it was welded, so even if the weld cracks (which I doubt!) it'll still bite enough to stop me flipping over the bars, as with a chain breakage.
Cheers Dad!
