Title: Oven pride on chainring
Post by: Bamb on January 01, 2013, 04:06 PM
With Oven pride a modellers paint brush and a steady hand ,you can remove the anodising from sugino chainring teeth an inch at a time rinsing with water as you go . It leaves a perfect machined look and fully anodised ones always seem cheaper as nobody wants them!!

Did this one in the summer  , been rode a lot since doing it ,if you look there is a step in the machining which helps guide the brush

Thats turned out awesome! Good job there! Did you mask off the bits you needed to or just got for it?

To be honest I just went for it as I'm terrible at masking curves and I thought tape might suck the oven pride in!!  I had nothing to loose as they look awful  with anodising  half worn off by the chain  :)
