Hi all i am in the market for a new bike build but my budget is not massive .I would like a master but know thats not gonna happen with my fundage so i wondered if team masters were any cheaper ?
I also like a team sport but cant seem to find any over here .
What should i expect to pay or what do you guys think is a reasonable price to pay for TEAM MASTER/SPORT f&f or full bike ?
Cheers Sean :daumenhoch:

A team master will be more expensive than a master complete. The same goes for a team sport. It's becouse of the components used as they were a higher spec. Such as 3 piece cranks and kneesaver bars.
A complete mint team master to build will set you back at least £1500. (I should know I have already built an 89 & 90 team master and I'm building an 88 team master now) :)
A mint team sport wouldn't be far off that price too. But be aware the sport doesn't fetch as much money as a master as it appears to be less desirable.
Team masters only came out in 87,88,89 & 90.
Team sports only came out in 87 & 88
A team master/sport uses the same frame as a standard master or sport it's just decaled up as a team one. But it's the components it has on it that make it a team spec bike. Like three piece cranks. Better wheels, brakes and so forth.
I hope this helps. Stu. :daumenhoch:

You might have a hard job finding a mint master / let alone a NOS one !

You should be able to get a decent sport f&f for £300 - £350.
Mint or nos your talking £450 - £500.

why dont you go for the 2006 modle, there are 3 of them on ebay at the min and not much money. :daumenhoch:
-
Go for the 88 Team Sport bud - I have one and its lovely, although i'm yet to source the Peregrine 3PC. They came in black and look super sexy :smitten:
-
Looks better now them god awful bars have been taken off!!! Looks much nicer with og style bars stu! :daumenhoch:
-
A ruff sport won't cost much fella just do a resto and change the decals
-
Yep looks lovely Stu, have you sourced a Haro chain wheel? I could do with one, apparently there were repops about but i never saw one :-\
I still haven't finished the Master I got off you!!! :idiot2:
-

Wanna sell me one please, pretty please? ;)
-
I'm not sure yet. I will have a think once I have built this one up. I have 3 of them. ::)
I'm not going for peregrine cranks. I have already had 2 sets that have had hairline cracks on the arms near the spindle. They ain't that strong unfortunately. I'm going to fit a set of red line single pinch full wraps with a double dimple spindle on a redline techmatic bottom bracket. It was the choice of most pro riders of that era. :daumenhoch:
-
3 THREE! I'll take a set of Peregrines too if that sweetens the deal - mines not a rider, more an ornament so strength isn't an issue for me :)
-
I sent both sets of peregrines back to the sellers. Which was a pain in the arse as one was in the states. So I lost out on postage and import duties! :tickedoff:
The hard part to find is a decent set of tech 7 levers. These cost well over £150 for a mint set. And £100 for a rough set. There are so many people after them as they were only out for a year and a half. :daumenhoch:
I'm not fitting a Nippon front brake either. I do have one. But I like to stop!!
And as all my bikes are riders I will be fitting my favourite choice of caliper brake the acs boa. Even though that didn't come out until late 89 :daumenhoch:
-
Do you want sell that front nippon dude ? What sort of condition it in ?
Cheers Sean :daumenhoch:
-
No the Nippon isn't for sale. I'm keeping it just in case I sell the bike on and the buyer prefers a Nippon. :daumenhoch:

Thats a royal pain in the arse having to send them back. Theres a set on the museum at the moment for $400 but i haven't been watching them enough to gauge price. How does that sound to you? I hope they aren't the set you returned
Still would love a chainwheel bud :daumenhoch:
-
Fookin ell Robbo. :LolLolLolLol:
It won't be going for a while. I'm going to show them this year. :daumenhoch:
After all I don't think there is many people in the uk with a mint 88,89 & 90 team masters.
Then I think my Haro days will be done. Costa will be happy as I have a gt to build at some point if I can be arsed. ;D
-
Fookin ell Robbo. :LolLolLolLol:
Like I said the other day, I'm always planning my next build even if its one for 2014 when your bored of it.... :LolLolLolLol:
-
You need to stop begging me for my bikes. It's getting embarrassing now mate. :-\
If you give me your next build, I will build it up properly for you. Then you can finally be proud of your bike and not have to sell it on after 2 months. :daumenhoch: ;D
-
Didn't I buy the cranks off your Master Robbo - and for a damn fair price as i recall?
-

Indeed they are :daumenhoch: The Haro chain wheel that was on it - is it now one of Stu's 3?
-
That cd is one of my 3 spares. I sold it to rob originally then got it back. I would imagine it will be going back his way sooner or later. :LolLolLolLol:
I have had 8 of these discs in the last 2 years. I still have 5. But I'm using 3 of them. That leaves 2. One as I said is more than likely going to Robbo. The last one is an original in a great survivor condition. That is staying in my collection as they are as rare as fook.
I will help you out though. Pm coming mate. :daumenhoch:
-
