Title: Heeeeeelp!!
Post by: Mdbh on January 06, 2013, 10:02 AM
How the hell am I going to get this out? The hex bit where the Allen key go's in has snapped!:( I've tried the screw drive/hammer route but it won't budge as ithink it's under load! This is a top cap thing that's on odyssey race forks? Anybody had this problem before?

I would try a little heat on it first to break the join. Then carry on tapping it around. Use a centre punch to tap it.  :daumenhoch:

Get the biggest flat blade screwdriver you have and a normal sized hammer and keep tapping at a 45 Degree angle where the arrow is

Just done the same to one last night

Oh before you do it loosen the two bolts and brace the front wheel between your legs

Also give it a good squirt of WD-40

They're a sh1t design - 'kin hate 'em. Rather than use heat on it you can also sometimes get em going after loosening the bolts, front wheel in legs and give the bars a good prod anti-clockwise. That'll get it going n'all.

are the 2 bolts out of the side ?  you should just be able to hold the front wheel/fork and turn the bars ,it will undo the top nut.
