Hi all happy new year !
Helping a good friend restore his "R" bmx bikes and wonder can anyone vouch for any Chromers up Manchester way please ? Got a couple of framesets that need a nice re-chroming :daumenhoch:

There's a place in The Midlands that have done stuff for me Daz, they were good, not cheap but good.

Having said that though, they charged me £50 to do my ladder bars inc postage back which is ok I suppose. :daumenhoch:

These guys are in Manchester and do good work. If you post them your stuff they will mail it back as well. http://www.rschrome.co.uk/ (http://www.rschrome.co.uk/)

I've used Leigh metal polishers on Harcourt ind est between Walkden and Farnworth. They do a good job and there's a powder coat place next door.

Depends how good quality and cost or the convenience
Allens of Pocklington , many amazing references of their work :4_17_5:
or
Leigh polishers ,Swinton not far from you I had a few bits done some turned out like new and some the quality control was slack :-\
Meticulous and Cheekythirtysix use a place over Oldham way :)

Leigh Metal Polishers have stripped a couple of f&f's for me and re-chromed a crank, spider and seat post for me.
Done a sound job on the bits but not sure what a f&f would be like.
Like H'dubber says you need good recommendations from someone who's got 1st hand experience. :daumenhoch:

I've seen there work on a F&F we will use Leigh for these frames

I've heard good things about them, but not used them myself yet. They'll be gettimg some bits of mine shortly. If they do a good job i'll trust them to do the hutch frame, forks & bars :)

Whats the going rate to chrome a frame and forks?

See what Sam "Meticulous" has to say - he's around your way. I'm fortunate to own a couple of his bikes and believe me he's not call "Meticulous" for nothing....
-
I used Leigh for my gorilla and my JMC ap . Good results . I used them for a torker once it was dog sh!t .all the bars and cranks I've had done have been great Pay your money and take your chances

Oh and if you want them doing for summer get them in now as show season is about to be upon us
