Title: Is a PK Ripper lacquered
Post by: Bmx nut on January 09, 2013, 07:11 PM
Hi

I have just purchased my first Ripper, I do not know much about these and would appreciate any info on the following:

Is the frame lacquered or will it just polish up with autosol

How do I confirm the frame date, I am pretty sure it is an 85 it is a PK serial number

What bars came with these in 85

Cheers

Mke

Pics needed  :daumenhoch: It won't be a looptail (whatever that is) if it's an 85. For the pre 85's they came in 3 finishes. Annodised, painted and Burnished. Like Glen said, clean it but don't over do it and make sure you go easy on the welds  :daumenhoch:

If it is an 85 frame it will have the straight chainstay, this only appeared for one year only, after that it will have a bend in the chainstay, used to have an 85 myself, put a pick up so you can compare it to yours.
