Right i have a Jan '82 Team goose that is in chrome and red parts - i have used the seat that i had on it for my Dec '82 supergoose build - both builds are not going to be era correct but close
so i have a suede seat in grey - still working on how to do the mongoose foil decals on the side
Now my question is that on a -'80 goose it had a black suede seat ~ now this is what i'm going to put on the team but !
do i do it black or would it look wierd in red ? (if i can get the right red dyed)
so the Red or the Black to dye the seat ?
cheers B ;)
-
no thoughts then ? cheers all ::)
-
It black B,
Though if you get the right red and dye's well that could look good aswell.
Safe bet black.
Can wait to see these builds complete :)
-
If you wanted to dare to be different then red is the way to go. Era correct would be black mind.
If you do dye it red and dont like it you may still be able to go black
-
Red :daumenhoch:
-
May be difficult to get the right red over grey but at least you can go black if it dont work :daumenhoch:
-
red and black tye dye mix you old hippy ! :daumenhoch:
-
I was METAL >:D
-
Try the red first cos "once you go black, you can't go back" :-*
-
now what's the best way to dye it ? dab it on or a quick soak ? when suede gets wet and then drys it will spoil right ? i could get a spray water bottle and fill it up with the mixture of dye and try it that way ?
oh bugger ::) what to do :D ;D
-
maybe get some suede material from somewhere and trial on that before you fook up a good chair :daumenhoch:
-
Burn it..
-
i'll put it yer ass and burn it :knuppel2:
-
go with black dude :daumenhoch:
-
This was the grey suede seat - as the goose is a Jan '82 i thought i would see what it would go like - so it was black or red to go with

i went with black - it needs to be fluffed up after it got wet to dye - bit of photoshop to see what it would look with the side decals (of which i will see how the hell i'm goin g to do)

so what yer think ?
cheers B :)

I would have gone with the red.
:LolLolLolLol:

Looks fantastic B - great job. A once over with a suede brush and it'll look like new. :daumenhoch:
-
Looks Great B.
-
so did you soak it or spray the dye ?.
-
I boiled the kettle
got a pot to put a tiny bit of black rit dye (although i would have used dylon as i feel it is better)
mixed both
got a car wash sponge and cut a bit off
got a tub so i could work over it and not spill any
and then just dabbed the sponge into the dye and onto the seat
in the end i ended up sort of just covering it with the wet sponge till all was covered
then let it dry
it still need a suede brush on it
and then the decals to work out ;)
-
Looks a top job
I'd be nervy about getting that dye everywhere.
So it's a good idea using a sponge to dab it
-
i did a suede seat with some suede shoe dye and it worked a treat :daumenhoch:
-
i had some black rit for some Z rims, so used a bit :D
-
Just to show what it should look like
